I think the "holy smokes" is because this question comes up about every day. just spend a few minutes reading the threads on the 1125 section, and you'll find at least 2 without even having to search or check the archives. (Message edited by ponti1 on September 22, 2009) |

Asking about the 2008 model 1125 is like whacking a hornets nest with a stick. What you'll find is people sharply divided on the subject. 1) Had an issue or two, dealer corrected them and they are happy 2) Have had issue after issue, been without their bikes for weeks or months, and have threatened Lemon Law suits, and written many many pages of rants here on BadWeb. I think most people have an issue or two, but once fixed they are happy. I bought an '09 1125CR, but would have had no issue with an '08 had they made the CR in '08. |

My bottom line, Anyone who has ever owned a mechanical conveyance, you will be ecstatic with Buell. Anything broken, they will fix. They will go the extra mile. However, if you are new to the planet, and think anything made by mankind is the perfection of God Almighty, you will be disappointed. Things break. Lights burn out. Seals leak. Tires and brakes wear out. So, if you expect perfection, you should probably stick to video games. I am very happy with my Buells. I think you will be too. I own an 08 1125R too. Sorry. Didn't mean to be testy. (Message edited by black on September 22, 2009) |

I picked one up yesterday for a real good price have 2 go pick it up on mon! Very excited! Few questions Whats the best fix for the weeping or leaking clutch issue and where does the leak originate from? And how can you tell the revA and revB covers from one another? Tuning? What is Ya'll tuner of choice for the 1125r? And any other issues to look for? thanks guys! |

I think the '08 issues are bike related. I've got an '08 built in Nov '07 and the only issues I've had are the rear turn sigs burnt out, which I rebuilt myself, oh yeah, I'm an electronics technician. The only other issue I've had is not enuf time to ride the damn monster. Most issues I've seen are minor and dealer fixes. Get the R, ride the fu&* out of it and have fun. She likes to be spanked. Spank it hard and ask for forgiveness later. U probably won't get it but ask for it anyway. She likes it rough. |

The rev B has a much bigger, black-painted (I think it's paint) puck, whereas the rev A is a lot smaller. It's been a long time since I had the rev A, but the puck may be plastic? By the way, I'm one of the ones with a "haunted" 08 --- multiple clutch weeps (all better now thanks), replaced instrument cluster, leaking rear master cylinder, etc, etc, blah blah blah, woof woof. I want to be buried with that bike. |
