39-40 mpg, averaging 70-75 mph most of the time on the highway. |

This thing hates being ridden economically, but i would imagine 50mpg would be doable possibly 55 on a R due to high gearing and fairing. Whatever, i use my 85mpg Blast for commuting anyway |

26 mpg or about 120 miles before the light comes on. Highway cruise around 100mph. Wide open - lots |

If you're light comes on at 120 miles, that means that you've got about 3.5 gallons to fill (from my experience)--- that's about 34mpg, and about what I see (combined highway, city) on my 2008 1125R (latest flash). (Message edited by pariah on September 20, 2009) |

35 mpg, seemingly no matter how it's ridden. |

36 mpg, with a one-way commute of 11 miles freeway (instantaneous reads about 42 mpg then) and then three miles of slog down Topanga Canyon Blvd. Sometimes I wish I could flip a switch and transform the 1125R into a City Cross whenever I enter the San Fernando Valley! :-) |

Pariah - not to be a smartass BUT I average 9L /100km which equals 26 mpg. The fuel capacity of the 1125R is 5.3 gallons including reserve - the light comes on when there is 0.8 gallons left. Sooooooo... burning 26 mpg (x 4.5) my light will come on at 117 miles with 21 miles left before shes flat out of gas. Aaaaaand done. |

Maybe gas is different in Canada. |

I am from Canada (but now live in the US), and gas is about the same, but folks there insist on strange units of economy like, liters per 100 kilometers! My fuel light comes on and I fill my tank with about 3.5 gallons of fuel (just leave a smidge of space for the stuff to expand). I know it's supposed to come on with about 0.8 gallons left, but 1) I don't have much faith in the accuracy of the low-fuel sensor and 2) I'm going by what I see (on the pump, and on the odo)... I'm not saying you're wrong, T, but 26mpg is a tad low for the latest flash, unless you are mainly riding at the track. MH

26 is pretty accurate for the original flash that T_man runs. I was getting 28 on my second flash and now get 31 running a modified 3rd flash. The only way I get 35+ mpg is to hit the interstate and cruise at a steady speed. |

At 20 something mpg, you either have: 1, A hole in your frame 2, Never shut off your bike and just leave it idling till the next ride 3, Never leave first gear and commute with only one wheel on the ground 4, Your AFV is 200 5, Your neighbor is stealing your gas

Umm, I hope you have a hole in your frame, hard for the fuel to get to the motor without one, but nice try. |

I have the latest flash, but am still in break in - so all I'm getting is 21 to 25 mpg - I sure the hell hope that improves a bit after break in - lol EZ |

To clarify and the confirm what Xbswede said; I am indeed running the original flash, coupled with my riding style surely explains why I am getting 26 mpg... there is no holes, leaks or anything else ridiculous fellas. I don't have a problem with it, every bike I've owned hasn't gotten much more than 125 miles per tankful either. Taker easy! |

35 mpg (6.7 litres/100 kilometres the readout says) is my average since new. That's ~600 km weekly, week-in and week-out; combination city & freeway riding. |

Steady state in town was 32-35mpg during break in. After that it stays at 32 mpg due to more confidence and higher revving. Can get 40+ when slabbing it on the highway, what little of that I do. Don't know how anyone could get 60-70mpg out of this bike; maybe run it to 60 then kill it on a huge down hill and then take an escalator back to the top...? |

I have gotten 55mpg a couple times, due to the fact that i was riding with my dad ( HD street glide) and he goes super SLOW hahaha, but i was shocked to say the least lol. Jake |

I'm seeing 33mpg according to the computer. I've not calculated it by hand yet. Honestly don't care. I can go 150 miles before the light comes on, and that's good for me. |

Just rode from Knoxville to Atlanta - moving. Made the trip on one tank which came out to 45 MPG. I could imagine getting 50 but I was following my wife who has a bit of a lead foot. Mid to high 30's normally. |

20-22 on track. 29-31 in the high twisties. Contrary to the comments about low fuel economy, I'd suggest the following possibilities for those getting more than 35. 1. You commute 2. You are a squid and only ride slab 3. You don't ride. 4. You can't ride.

This last fill up got a 156 on 4 gallons. That equates to 39mpg. I am typically seeing anywhere from 37 to 40mpg. Riding 75mph to 85mph. Bike has 2700 miles on it. |

I'm typically in the low 30's tooling around, but have gotten mid to upper 40's on longer trips where I'm not constantly on and off the gas. |
