Hello! I have a leaking clutch cover on my 1125r, and I understand that this issue should be fixed under warranty. What exactly do I need to tell the dealer so they will approve the repair under warranty? What is the latest "fix" for the leak issue, and what are the correct part / kit numbers? Is there any other parts that could have been damaged as a result of the leak which I should have checked? I would also like the latest ECM flash done at the same time, what is the latest revision#? Thanks ahead of time for answering all my questions! |

X2086.1AM - Hydraulic Piston/Sleeve Kit It's covered under warranty. It's a leak for cripe's sake. M3HUS05Z is the latest flash for the '08's. Ask them to hook the bike up to Dig Tech while they're working on the leak. |

also, make sure they order you a new cover as well. my dealer got the kit but failed to notice that the leaked fluid had eaten up the paint on the cover. |

This is off topic, but I need to vent. The day after I picked my bike up from getting it's 620 mile service, I read about clutch weep on BadWeb, so I walked out to my garage to see that - guess what - my clutch was leaking. The dealer either (1) didn't notice or (2) noticed and failed to tell me about it. Regardless, I'm moving on to the next one. I hope your experience is better Halowse; sorry for trollin' your post. |

My dealer did the fix, but didn't change the cover. At this point I am just happy it isn't leaking any more. ac |

Loretta has been weeping since last Feb. Took her in for the brake recall and have a new fork leg, a new RevB cover and waiting for the cylinder sleeve kit that's on Backorder. Should be all fixed as soon as X2086.1AM shows up. Z |

Mine is on back order too. This will be the second time in for a fix. Hopefully the final one. There should also not be any issue getting the cover changed if it stained. |

My bike is an '09, and it started leaking with only a few hundred miles on it. Hopefully the parts you got are different the the one my bike came with. |

I have been waiting since the 18th of August for the parts. My clutch started squiring out the weep hole when I pulled in the lever, it would also drip until empty when stationary and cold (unrideable). My dealer and I have been trying to get the parts ASAP, but they are on backorder. They expect the Shipment to leave Germany 9/8 and arrive 9/18 they said they have quite a few orders already. 1 Month without my 1125 really sucks... The weather is perfect in Ohio right now. |

There were 9 kits on backorder the other day . . that could cause a bit of a delay . . there is one other factor . . but your dealer should be able to get you information and get you fixed up pronto. |

Only 9??? Still waiting to get the piston/cylinder kit to do all the other work. All the other parts we need are in. Not a big deal I guess, I'm still riding. Z (Message edited by zac4mac on September 04, 2009) |

My dealer (AD Farrows) stated that they even tried to get one pulled off the line and looked at all other dealers, they couldn't get the parts. After their efforts, I called Buell CS just to see if I could assist in expediting things and was given the info I posted earlier and that there are none available at any dealers for shipping. I hoped that I could be on the road earlier, but no such luck. I hope October's weather is nice. |

Thanks for all the responses guys. Since it seems like the parts are backordered for a while, is there any danger of further damage to the bike if I just keep riding out the rest of the good weather, as long as I am topping off the DOT4 before hand? |

As long as it's a slow leak/weep, and you're keeping an eye on the level, I don't think you'll have a problem. Just my opinion & YMMV. |

If your clutch stops working you will have to ride home without a clutch. Not impossible, but red lights become fun. ac |

Was hoping it wasn't going to happen BUT guess what, it did 09 1125CR. Started last weekend. No weep, when I pulled the clutch lever, fluid shot out the weep hole. Took it to the dealer today and thanks to this thread X2086.1AM - Hydraulic Piston/Sleeve Kit, I gave them the info, should be here next week. Thanks Badweb. Even met a Uly rider there and told him to visit Badweatherbikers. C. |

How many miles on your CR? I've only had mine a few weeks, and it's only got a tick over 1000 miles on it. |

If there is an upside to this issue, it is that the problem manifests itself quickly and not after warranty expiration. (Message edited by fresnobuell on September 10, 2009) |

Yep....first sign of weeping, and I'll notify the service department to order me the parts so everything will be there when I drop it off. Any idea how long it takes to do the swap. I can't imagine very long. |

My dealer kept it over night, but I would imagine book time to be about 2 hours at most. ac |

It's still not clear to me what "official" direction Service Departments are being given re; weeps. I have spoken with my local guy and without any specific direction from Buell they will proceed with standard repair practices. Me telling him that the X2086.1AM kit is "the" fix has little credibility, and why should it? ...even though I am confident it IS "the" fix. How are you guys approaching your Service folks, and convincing them to replace specific parts? |

Steel, I tried and they are still only replacing the o rings, I was also polite? The only thing I insisted, was they replace the stained cover! They was not going to replace it since it was the upgraded cover already? I reminded them that it was a new bike and the damage was due to a manufacturing defect. If anyone receives a new cover, be sure they order the 1125R or the 1125CR emblem on the cover, it does not come with the new cover. When I spoke with the mechanic he stated the job will take about two hours. |

I tried and they are still only replacing the o rings Precisely my point! I'd like to make this a one-stop event so as not to waste anybody's time...including mine! Re; Politely: Thanks, Mr. Obvious! LOL! I know SOME folks would rather dress up and picket or flame Erik and Company, but I'd much rather work WITH the Service guys! A good suggestion for ALL situations, regardless. |

My dealer just changed mine to all 09 parts didn't have to wait on backorders that way My '09 started to weep last month, about 5200 miles on it. I haven't talked to my dealer yet, but next time I'm in there I'll show them the weep and make sure they get the '10 parts. |

maybe speak to the service manager and explain the situation. Maybe have him contact Buell for guidance. I'm lucky as my service manager / friend rides a Buell and is a member of <img> |
