Does a 2009 cluster on a 2008 need an ECM reflash or is it plug and play? ac |

Does the gear position indicator work? Mileage is stored in the ECM, correct? ac |

Yes it all works. There is a 30 minute count down on the cluster before millage is shown. After the 30 minutes the new cluster is married to the ECM and the stored mileage is updated to the cluster. |

sorry to butt in. Xbswede, is the mileage stored in the ecm on the xb models too. what happens if you switch out the cluster? where is the true mileage recorded(shown?) thanks! |

I believe the mileage on XBs is stored in the cluster not in the ECM. |

The cluster and the ECM act as back-up for each other. Replace one and it learns the information(such as mileage, VIN etc) from the other. I have replaced my 08 cluster with an 09. It's plug-n-play with a 30 second count down as others have said. |

Joel9- I have not really looked into the XB cluster swap so I can't answer that one for you. |
