mmmhh...... My experience on the dyno: On the XB and the 1125 in both cases, it's a lean mixture on the close throttle map. When you add fuell it will go away and the enginebrake will be less. Sometimes a lean closed throttle fuel map wil cuase engine brake so hard that the tyre brakes and the wheel slips. I never got the poping away ( on the closed throttle) too lean the mixture more, only to add fuel there. just my 2 cents. When closed throttle fuel cells are too lean, changing the exhaust to a more open flow system will cause a more leaner mixture and a more poping engine on closing the throttle. |

I have to agree here Easyrider, just maybe why I'm not seeing as much popping as some is because I'm at 4200' elevation and AFV's are showing a slight rich metering at 95 F&R. As Al has said it could be made to go away with EITHER leaning or richening. Here at altitude I have never seen the bad conditions as many have had at lower regions. Good input bud. |

"Al as usual nailed it. Beware so-called "masters" who claim that "popping on decel is caused by a lean condition."" ...As usual, Blake reads into everything with the same responding, one sided attitude that should warrant this response... Here you are then; Too bad. FWIW, it usually takes more than one to win an overall effort...but often, only one to lose it. More than ONE is "right" within this thread. No offense to sponsors...or other posters herein. mm |

Your input has always been appreciated MM and you are right it will take all of us pulling together to have a better bike, which we all want, even though BMC gave us a great one to start with. Thanks my friend and thanks to all who post responsibly as gentlemen. Bob |
