This is a couple of days late, but...380 miles of somewhat aggressive riding, coupled with a visor replacement for my helmet, and a near miss with a flying deer, the bike ran great. Hit the rev limiter once while in second. The "noise" is still there, but the bike runs like it did when I first got it. I guess I should just take my wife's advice and view this as a "feature" unique only to a Buell |

Thats Great news Tony,, and ya missed the deer too! Hey, I want to tell you, I took JPowell's advice on the 20/50 Amsoil. Geez!, the friggin' bike wanted to light up the tire in third gear twice! I can hear the exhaust more now due to less clatter but I could swear I could every moving part in that engine yell,,ALRIGHT!! I had no problem noticing the difference! Dump that Screaming Chicken crap as soon as you can,, and the Amsoil is almost $4 cheaper,, Per Quart! |

Ya, I've done a fair amount of reading here before I started posting anything. I've all ready bought some oil and a couple of filters. She'll be due for an oil change in another 800 miles. As far as the ride went Sunday, hehehe, it became quite the comedy. AT about 70mph in a nice sweeping left hander, I took a bug right square in the middle of my helmets wind sceen/visor. Cracked it almost in half. Lucky for me, a local bike retailer(about 40 miles out of my way) opened their doors 2 1/2 hours early to sell me a new one. Back on the road and homeward bound, I was riding along side of the Snohomish river just east of Monroe, Wa. when this doe bolted from the river. I saw it, the the guy in the Ford Ranger in front of me didn't. He smacked the deer, the deer cleared the cab of his truck, I did a little jigger-jog to the left, and the deer bounced off the hood of a chevy Caprice and went clean through the chevy's wind shield. I stooped to see if the guy in the Ranger was ok, and he was. The gal in the chevy was fine too, but no love lost on her, I figure that's what ya get for tailgating me. |

Nice to hear MetalRabbit, I know it did wonders for mine, I knew it would for yours. I am a dealer of Amsoil after I used it so I get it for cheaper than you would pay at the harley dealer. It is easy to become one, like 10 bucks and you can buy it for about 8.70 or so a quart. |

Yo Tony! Gawd! I had no idea it was that kinda deer event,, that sounds pretty serious,, I'm glad you escaped the worst part of that. I rode my Buell thru Monroe last July 18th after racing in the Nationals Model Boat Race (R/C stuff). My boating bud hauled my boat equipment up earlier that week and I rode the Buell up to race. My brother lives in North Bend near Rattle Snake lake, so I took that road to N. Bend,, a great ride that road. AC & JP, I was being hammered at the HD/Buell shop where I bought my bike for Syn oil @ $12.50 a quart. It was $8.85 for a qt of Amsoil on the net. |

Saw reference to the rotor nut...I'm a little out of my element on the 1125 side but is this what you were thinking. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/497581.html?1253639039 |

Rangeridn, It looks like it, from the Service Techs explanation? The terms used were not my own, I was just relaying information given to me, from the repair on my bike. Thanks, Troy |
