I was wondering if anyone has put the heated grips and wind guards on their 1125 and how well did you like them?

I have the heated grips.

After having heated grips installed on a couple of bikes, I'll never own another one without it! I have them on my track bike where they are amazingly handy!

In the fall, your normal gloves work great, but in the morning and evening, you have just what you need to keep loose. In the winter, grips and gloves together, both on low, are way better than just one on high. And, if your bike sits out all night in the cold, without grips your hands NEVER warm up because the bike itself is cold.

The factory grip kit for the 1125r is a bit pricey, but I like how well it's integrated. There are other options that work as well, too, but I am happy I sprung for the factory kit.

I don't use the hand guards.

I bought and installed the factory grips also. They get too hot most times on high and even on low sometimes. But they do keep your hands warm.

Heated hand grips are awesome. This is the first bike that I've owned with heated grips and I'll never go without them again.

I did a 1k trip around Lake Erie last year and we got caught in the rain on the last day. The heated grips kept my rain saturated gloved hands nice and warm. After the rain stopped, it didn't take long for the heated grips (in combination with the wind) to dry out my rain soaked gloves. I was indeed impressed!

I give a big thumbs up to heated hand grips. I have the factory grips and I installed them myself as well.

Save some money for $103.74 you can the setup from Al at American Sport Bike and it includes the factory switch pod with the heater controls.

When I first heard about heated grips way back in 1985 (when I bought my first BMW) I thought they were a dumb idea. The first winter I had the bike made me a BELIEVER.

When I heard Buell had optional heated grips available for the 1125R you bet your life I was getting them with the bike.

The Buell grips on LOW are far hotter than the BMW grips on high. Even in the coldest weather I find myself flipping them off when they get too hot, and then back on again. Fortunately the thumb switch is easily accessible from the handlebar. I've NEVER used the Buell grips on high... you probably have to live above the Arctic Circle to need that setting.

Sure you can get cheaper grips than the ones from Buell.
Know this tho, the Buell grips have two heaters.
Low uses one, hi is both, so if one fails, you still have one.
All the other grips I've seen use resistors and one heater to change the heat ranges.

Initially I thought about the Uly hand guards, but realized I could move the grips in a half inch on one side and almost an inch on the other.
I drilled some new index holes and now move the grips in for winter so the fairing protects my hands better and out for summer to keep my hands cooler.

The coldest I remember was a 20 minute ride in 14* F and I did fine with just the heated grips and full leathers.

Colorado winters are cold and I ride anytime there's no ice on the roads.

I think you might run into fairing interference if you tried the hand guards, there's not much clearnce from the hand lever ends to the fairing at full turn.

I have the heated grips and LOVE them.

YMMV

If you have the money buy them! They are a Godsend in the cold. Road a little over 40 minutes to work in 18 degree weather (F) and my hands were warm. The rest of my body was jealous of my hands.

Mine came on my Ulysses and all I can say is they are the first I have ever had that I had to shut off when they get too hot . . not altogether a "bad" thing.

Are there any CR riders out there with the wind deflectors? I live in Florida and have never had to put the bike up because of temp, but I am interested in increasing the comfort level on my CR.
