Okay so on my exhaust where the mid pipe meets the muffler. the mufflers mating pipe has slices in it and i cant seem to get to seal properly. when its running(after tightening everything_) i can feel exhaust gasses getting pushed out if i put my hand close to the mid pipe and where the slit is. any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Loosen the two hangar bolts, the right rearset, and the clamp. Take either a rubber mallet or a piece of 2x4 and a regular hammer and tap it with a good bit of force till it's as far forward as it will go, then tighten everything up. Should seal. Come to think of it, I didn't even check mine. Better not...... IF problem persists, get in touch with Kevin. I would bet he does what is necessary to make it right. Let us know. Good luck! R |

Hmmmmph. Thanks. I thought everything in my world was good. Ya whatever... I do have a small leak at the mid-pipe and a smaller on at the rear cylinder head-pipe. Considering how much pressure/velocity the exhaust is going I'm not surprised. Makes a hella leaf blower. Guess this weekend I'll retighten and check again. edit - The first one I saw belongs to Ryan (Cataract2) who rode up from Colo Springs to show me what they looked and sounded like. His came very close to the rear tire, and that's all I was concerned about when I mounted it. Zack (Message edited by zac4mac on July 15, 2009) |

I've got pretty good clearance between the outlet & my rear tire (1"+ by my eyeball measurement). It's been that way since I've installed my drummer. I made sure during installation to install the midpipe 1st, making sure I had a good seal to the headers. When installing the muffler, again, made sure I had a good seal to the midpipe. No exhaust leaks since install. YMMV. |

So Phil, does that mean that the next time at the track you'll be sneaking up and scaring me??? |

So, I just got done - Pulled it off, cleaned it up and sprayed BBQ black on the mid-pipe and front of the can. Sprayed a little inside to help seal too. All pretty as new and no leaks. Letting her cool down so I can re-tighten the clamps. I let her run a few minutes without the can so the neighbors appreciate the reduced sound levels. Z |
