I have a deal going to buy a D&D exhaust for $500.00. First is this a good price? What kind of tuning have those who have bought this pipe done? Thanks Mike | ||

Can't say anything about the price but the D&D is a bad choice if you EVER plan on riding the bike in turns (where it's the most fun). D&D has ignored feedback on just how much the pipe sticks out past the right footpeg... meaning if you ever want to turn to the right, the pipe will lift the ass end of the bike off the ground BEFORE your footpeg contacts the ground. Poor design unless for a drag bike or a cruiser - but piss-poor for a sportbike. Footpeg and boot toes should ground before ANY hard parts. I believe they are $699 new,someone correct me if I'm wrong. I paid far less than 500, but it was a well used system. Keep in mind, that the noise level talk you hear on this board is NOT all hype. I assumed people were exaggerating about the noise. THEY ARE NOT! The D&D on an 1125 is without a doubt the loudest streetbike I have ever heard. You will drown out your buddies on their Big Twins with straight pipes, and piss off your ENTIRE neighborhood. Trust me on this. That being said, it does make good power but you really should invest in some tuning for it to make it really strong.Big numbers can be gained, if you can stand the UNGODLY song the D&D bellows. (just my pennies worth o' 2 cents) | ||

For street use you can turn right just fine. You can clear all the chicken strips off the rear with no issues without the pipe dragging. I am sure it will hit on a track with a good rider but I am not good enough to make it drag. But everything else is correct. It is the loudest street bike I have heard and it makes great power. I got mine used for about half the price you mentioned. | ||

+1 I just cleaned my tires up nice in a parking lot and ground some plastic off my new knee pucks... The D&D never touched... I don't see an issue with it unless you are getting serious on the track. For most of us that works great. If anything the boom this pipe makes is louder than anything you will come across. At Buell homecoming I couldn't pull into the factory parking lot without drawing a crowd. The museum night, a good many of us thundered into the museum area and I managed to set off a few car alarms. The neighbors don't mind it because I ease out of the neighborhood before I open her up. But I do want a Drummer... we'll see. |
