>>>name me 1 person at Buell who is every day on the dyno with a Buell motorcycle Dris: I can name two. They each have a dyno in their office and they joke that they "get paid to burn fuel and make noise". All they do is EFI and motor R&D day after day. Best wishes to you my friend. |

Court- I want that job! But alas, I am only a simple construction worker. I have added a ton of fuel AND timing to mine and am up 7-10 hp on top and a bunch of torque on the bottom and middle(I say a bunch because my dyno charts only show HP and speed, not rpm and torque and I am too lazy to do the math). Timing in the midrange and lower rpm made this bike a wheelie monster in first gear, way more than stock. YMMV |

well, I know that feel is subjective, and I have not made any changes to my 1125 other than KN and remove inner airbox, BUT... 20 years of drag racing internal combustion engines, and tuning for trapspeed and ET(as opposed to dyno HP) would, I would like to believe... give me a good "feel" for the way an engine is running, and my "feel" says this 1125 motor is running lean, and retarded on the timing. Ignition AND valve timing. And off a little front to back, as well. But I of course have absolutely no hard proof for this whatsoever. However, it is known fact that almost all motors running in EPA compliant mode, run lean and retarded timing wise from the standpoint of a "supertune"or maximum volumetric efficiency. Face it guys, our bikes are tuned for the EPA, and the timing is a big part of that picture. Just my opinion, so FLAME AWAY! ciao... |
