I bought the Gentleman from Ohio's computer program, installed it drove it a bit. Decided it needed some ignition tweaking, did some today.
Note: it's been sitting in the garage because of the way it has run (bad!) since I bought it.

NOW....this thing runs like it should..!

Pulls hard from about 2300 (or so)RPM, pulls like a freight train from about 3500 (or so)RPM.
I'm about 245/250lbs. and getting on the freeway, at about 4000, I found myself leaning over the front wheel to keep it down. That's the first time in roughly 1700miles it's felt even close to that.

NOW...I'm a happy camper with the purchase of this thing (a CR). Always liked its looks, but not the way it has run.
No surging, smooth, pulls from a low rpm with no problem.
Only did a short 10 mile sprint, some city, some freeway.

Since its been sitting, now I can go over everything to make sure it's ready to battle the So. Cal. workday traffic.

Now I feel like I can give it some dyno time to check the actual A/F ratios without burning the poor thing up.

Feeling like Christmas all over again...(I bought it between Christmas and New Year!)

Mike

Glad to hear that! I have been thinking about purchasing said product but was not sure. What kind of tweaking did you do? Doesn't it comes with a performance flash? Or do you have to just "go by ear"?

Hi 1 mike, After I set the suspension at the track down here in Texas the bike was on rails .It ran very smooth and Lot's of bottom grunt the mid was very good the topend was awesome . I can't believe they let buell run with 600cc bikes . It was staying with the liter bikes down the straight . Man Mike I'm very happy . Alot of people were asking me if I was from ohio I thought that was funny . Mike I have been with this Gentleman for over year and he has helped me alot and yeah I my self it has been plug an play .

Stock, I agree.

There's a kid at my local track running an R6 that can easily out-pull me on the straight, though. (Not that it matters -- same kid is lightening fast EVERYWHERE and races supersport AMA! The only thing I ever see of him is his ass pulling away!)

Top end work, high compression, exhaust system, tuned injection and spark map, oxygenated fuel, etc, and a 600 in "race trim" can be a pretty potent bike.

Sure, it needs a rebuild every 4 track days, but the point is a 600 can be a lot more competitive than when they leave the showroom floor.

If you were keeping up with stock liter bikes, it was with riders afraid of the gas. There's a pretty remakable difference between what the 1125r puts down and what a liter bike being wrung out will do.

I'm not trrying to bash on the 1125r, just saying it ain't a 4-cyl 1,000CC. I'd say the 1125r and a stock 750cc I4 are very comparable.

I second that statement Jdugger. I love my 1125R and wouldn't trade it for anything but anyone who claims it is a match for a (newish) liter bike is in for a reality check. I'd go one further than calling it comparable to a 750cc IL4 - In my opinion its closer in power/speed to a early gen R1/Gixxer Thou/CBR etc. That being said, I find the 1125R has more potential for 'fun' than any bike on the market - not to mention versatility. You can race, commute or tour on this thing with no problems. Like a few guys here I hope to get mined 'tuned' to release some of the 'potential' performance that is suppressed with the current fuel map. A torque hammer would be nice too! Taker easy fellas.

Jdugger & T_man, I agree too, about a stock 1125 against a race 600. But I can say that with the Torque Hammer and Dris's race map that is not the case any more. I only got to run against a couple of race 600s and a hyabusa before I got hurt (which will keep me off track till sept). I could pull the 600s and stay with the hyabusa.

But of course I have the same problem as many, those young guys are so much faster in the turns!

Luise -

As I did with my XB12 (test mule!), I altered the timing like I would if it was one of my cars.
Lots...now, basically.
Starting at 10 degrees at idle and quickly going up from there to 7000rpm. For now, it's the as supplied "Performance" values after 7K.

I will add a little more in the 4000 to 6000 range next weekend.

And, yea..so far seat of the pants only. Will be looking into some dyno time now that it's finally close.

As for the I-4 vs. the 1125...it might be close to my 98,000 mile old 03, R1. Maybe a tad better in the mid range (the 1125), but I think the R1 is still better in the upper rpm ranges. Though it has been a while since I compared them side by side.

Anyone know of a good eddy current style dyno in the So. Cal. area?

Mike
