Hehehehe . . . those photos are taken in an off-site facility (you always wondered where the 5th building was when Buell announced plans to move, right?) and you are likely to see ANYTHING in here. Think of it as the "What Can Be" crucible where some innovative and creative thinkers congregate, freed of the bounds of corporate and federal restrictions and spend many hours engaged in "What if . . . ?" bikestorming. A couple of the photos in some of the recent articles were taken there and the place was "commerically sanitized" before the event. Some of the stuff is simply a collection of parts, pieces and ideas and no inferences should be made with regard to future racing efforts or public products. I mean . . . if you could see just to the left out of the picture . . it would be a mistake to assume there will ever be a 275HP 1125R motor. It's a fairly smart and creative group. |

He he.. Buell's own Area 51! Nope. No.. You didn't see what you saw. (Message edited by doerman on July 07, 2009) |

The Buell "off-site" race shop is just a block away from the Buell headquarters. I couldn't talk my way in last month. BR. |

Ah.. So Steve, you're the protector of Buell's Area 51! Stands to reason I guess, being close to Edwards and all. (Message edited by doerman on July 07, 2009) |

No predictions here, but about the time teh dealer show should reveal new Buell products, Bubba Blackwell is being lined up to do some trick riding, stopies, and jump on his Buell at High Country H-D/Buell in Frederick, CO Sat 25July in conjunction with the Harley dealer show in Denver that weekend. Spread the word, we should show the dealer network how to speak "Buell-ese" with a huge turnout. ~jammer |

Maybe an RR version with uprated suspension - not that the 1125R needs it however, can't see the MOCO fiddling with the engine, perhaps the rumoured rev C clutch cover, IC with no condensation and a reliable LFL/CEL in for the winter months. |

on the Harley end, FLHXSE, FLHXXX, XR 1200X, 103 FXSTC, FLTRU,FLSTFB, and some other "renamed bikes" not much of a redesigned bike just new junk tosted on the old footprint. Buell end, XB body design change, Uly upgrade, 1125 remains cool as ever with minor tech stuff improved. |

> Maybe an RR version with uprated suspension - not that the 1125R needs it however Boy, I disagree with you there. The stock suspension is ok for street riding, but click the pace up a bit and you can outride it pretty easily. I'd like to see an "S" model offered with Showa BPF or Ohlins all around. Not that I'd buy one anytime soon seeing that I already own two 1125r... |

Sometimes just having a suspension expert tune the stock setup can get you the same level of results out of stock units. Give this a read. http://www.rg3suspension.com/reviews/Motorcyclist. pdf |

RG3 essentially cleans up the stock unit and replaces worn parts with OEM parts. They will respring and change the shims to modify the valve action. From my research, this is a good step forward compared to a simple fork oil change, but anyone really looking for a better alternative should look at working with Traxxion or Race Tech. It will be more expensive, but you will get better results. On that note, anyone have experience with both Traxxion and Race Tech? I am trying to decide which way to go this winter. |

I know folks who have dealt with TRAXXION and I have never heard anything but wonderful reviews. |

Hate to say it (since Race Tech are local guys) - but I've dealt with both - including track-side service by Race Tech... and having spent hard-earned money with both, I'd stick with Traxxion (and have had them do 3 sets of forks and have bought 3 Penskes over the years from them) Racetech is still coming up to speed on Buells and Traxxion has been working Buells since the Tunderbike days. Danny there at Traxxion is actually really responsive to technical questions about setup... kinda the question: "When I do this (XXX) the bike does this (XXX) - what does it mean?" |

My prediction is for radiators under the seat. When Erik Buell was in Australia I asked about putting the radiators under the seat like on the Britten. He replied that things that were possible on a race bike could not always be used on a street bike. This patent shows that Buell are at least considering it. http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20080314671 (If the patent number is based on date, it predates the conversation.) With the radiators tucked away it would bring back the XB style married to a high power water cooled V-twin. |
