We can now supply the new pod replacement side panels for the 1125R and 1125CR. This is a complete kit that relocates some of the components under the pods for a much lighter and smoother look, not just a glassfibre cover. We will have these on our web site in the next few days and they will be available to order only.
The 1125CR kit also includes a new flyscreen based on the show bike seen at the Italian shows last year.

Do the pods protect and are they easily replaceable? The fly screen could be a tad taller. How much for the Termi pipes? I like that! |

Looks like those pod covers could be painted to resemble an eagle's head-combine that with stars and stripes paintwork and you'll have quite a patriotic theme. |

What exhaust is that in the first picture? I knew someone would ask that It is the prototype that Free Spirits have been running on their 1125 race bike in Italy. At present it is just a prototype with no plans for release, but who knows? The Termi pipe is listed and shown on their web site as available as a full system. However, I can't find any information as to whether they have actually decided to release it or the cost. If I find out any information I will of course post it here. Where does the stuff under the pods go? It is all relocated under the new pods using the new brackets supplied Do the pods protect and are they easily replaceable? They will protect, but obviously not quite as much as the original 'buffers' that cover the side pods. They will be replaceable should one get damaged. combine that with stars and stripes paintwork and you'll have quite a patriotic theme. Only if you are American of course (Message edited by trojan on June 25, 2009) |

Matt, any results on cooling performance (better or worse) overall and in stop & go traffic? And do you have any pics from the front & rear? (Message edited by P_squared on June 25, 2009) |

Matt, you didn't respond to the question about protection. Most other fairing/pod mods retain the "gill" at the front of the stock pods. They really do act like sliders (I've got the scars to prove it). How do your pod replacements protect the bike in a slide? |

Seems like you are losing function for form here. doesn't look like it will hold up during a crash. |

Since most people don't crash enjoy life turn the sexy up!!!!! Worth paying more for repairs. Similar to a high maintenance trophey wife worth the trade off for some. |

Seems like you are losing function for form here. doesn't look like it will hold up during a crash. These will not act like crash protectors as the stock pods will. They will protect the radiators to a degree, just like any bodywork will. However, crash worthiness isn't a subject that comes up as often as ugliness when you discuss the 1125 with people, and you spend years looking at your bike but just seconds crashing it. Form will triumph over function any day when you are selling motorcycles - why do you think that uncomfortable peaky sports bikes are still best sellers? Buyers of the Speed Triple, Benelli TNT, MV Brutale, KTM Superduke or other similar naked sports bikes don't have crash pods on the top of their wish list, and these are the markets that Buell is trying to compete in. What they are looking for is performance and good looks. Crash protectors can always be added later. I'd rather it looked good and claim on the insurance if I break it Cooling performance has been tested to be as good or better than stock, and testing has been done in Italy so temperatures have been higher than here in good old blightly. Dealers in Europe really cannot shift these bikes out of the showrooms, and have been asking for designs such as this in an atempt to woo some prospective owners put off by the stock porkiness. With dealers knocking huge discounts off the floor price of even new bikes they wanted something to improve the looks. I'm sure there will be some people who don't like it, but then there always is. And do you have any pics from the front & rear? Not yet, but I'll post some when available. |

Matt, would you consider offering some frame sliders? Your pods would be protected if there were sliders to attach to those mounts at the top of the engine. I've looked at this before and suggested it elsewhere. That's when it was pointed out to me that the pod gills also function as sliders and more were not needed. Just a thought. BTW I hate where the ECM is located stock. Do you relocate it? |

Sounds like someone who's idea of a ride is to the local bike night and home again. Some people appreciate a $60 bill when dropping the bike as opposed to $600 or more. |

Well I have never been to a bike night but I do drive almost everyday and average 26,000 miles a year. It adds to the excitment of rIding even more if you have a sexy ride. To me a good looking bike just adds to the excitement |

I'll wager that if you polled every motorcycle forum on the planet (over than the 1125 section of BadWeB) and asked them if they would exchange their motorcycle's aesthetics for modest tip-over protection, the answer would be, without any hesitation- unequivocally NO. However, since this is the 1125 section of BadWeB, there will be staunch defense of the stock design- even if it runs counter to the opinion of 99% of the rest of the motorcycling world. It makes perfect sense to offer options to prospective buyers in order to make products more palatable in order to sell them. An upgrade that can increase the aesthetic appeal of the 1125 line (a proven hurdle) while decreasing the ability to withstand tip-over damage (not a high priority for most buyers) makes perfect sense. |

To be completely honest, I'd never buy these because I like the stock design. That being said, the one change that might almost make me consider them would be to introduce something that covers the huge gap between the top of the new pods and the bottom of the r fairing. The stock one bothers me enough, this one is even worse. |

These might look better until those radiators are all stuffed full of bugs and crap. Stock, clean pods? Or these aftermarket pods with death impregnated? These don't look bad if you have a real issue with the stock pods - I don't, so they're not for me. |

Ducdood9, too funny! You don't even ride an 1125. s1125r, checkout the Catalyst fairing in this thread. There is no gap between front fairing and pod. There's also the factory race fairing but they are a bit pricey.
