Anything that sells more of these bikes is better. I go beyond liking the looks of this bike. I sit in the garage and stare at it and smile. If you don't like the way it looks, for God's sake change it, but ride it anyway. Erik deserves vindication with this machine. I love the one I have. Z |

Cost? Cost of the kits will be GBP495 (US$795 approx) for the R model and GBP595 (US$950 approx) for the CR, which includes the screen. This includes all brackets, fittings, inner fan shrouds and comprehensive instructions. |

I'm a fan of the stock pods but I'd like to say these look great. I'd buy a set for my bike if I had the money to drop on 'em. While I do like my bikes to look good, I lean more towards function over form so if they do improve cooling as written I'm very interested. Thanks Trojan, good job IMO. Maybe in the future I'll be able to purchase the kit. |

Trojan, Anyway to combine these with a lower and belly pan? You could certainly fit a separate belly pan with these scoops, but there is no plan to make any lower fairings to fit with them. For those looking for a slightly taller screen for their Cr models, Ilmberger have just released this extended screen in pre-preg carbon fibre only. I will have price details later today hopefully.

Wow, I missed this. It popped up in a google alert to a Ducati forum post. I really like. How many have you sold so far Matt? |

What an unusual treatment for the exhaust. Anyone able to comment on the theory or strategy behind increasing the header length in order to seat the canister backwards? |

Blake - that's an old photo of the first iteration. Bottom line they didn't work and the bikes overheated. Free Spirits has a new version now... or so I read on the interweb. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/495142.html?1252725167 Z |

Zac, Darn! Missed that one too. Oh well, never mind. Marco, The header is not longer that I can tell. I doesn't have the bendy twisty portion on the right side of the bike any more. Looks about the same length then, no? Maybe the rear tract is longer though. |

Blake, you might be right, but it looks to me like the header/midpipe comes down and then stretches all the way past the canister(s) back to the rear tire before doing a 180 and entering the can from the rear --- maybe about 3 feet or more of midpipe, not counting the can? Even if it's not longer than a conventional midpipe, it would still be longer than if it just entered the canister at the front in the usual way. But even disregarding the midpipe, what is especially interesting to me is the "backward" orientation of the canister itself --- the exhaust tip is at the front of the can! I can't recall ever seeing a bike exhaust where the header/midpipe entered the canister anywhere other than the front, or where the exhaust tip was anywhere other than the rear (or at least close to it). What would be the purpose of this unconventional approach? |

I actually do like these side panels, I just wish they were made of the same exact material as the rest of the plastics. |

If I designed new pods they would use straighter lines like the frame and not so round. They would be up higher like the radiators on a dirtbike. Its the round shape and downward slope that throws off the look IMO. |

The "reverso" exhausts I saw for the XB's, but only across the pond. If collector/midpipe length is the problem, that's an elegant, simple answer. R |

Pipe length... I add a 10" extension to my Drummer(forget it makes it unrideable) and the sound is more than cut in half. Another reason the OEM pipe is amazing. Z |
