I had to bring my brothers v-rod muscle in for service and while waiting I test drove a new 2008 1125r. After about 30 seconds I knew I would be trading my old bike in immediately for the 1125r. So I made the deal and was about to drive home on my 1125r and the dealer found out the brake line recall had not been done and they could not let take the bike home until it was fixed. So to make it up to me they said I could get any accessory for dealer cost, so I decided on the carbon fiber jardine. They are going to put it on right away when they do the brake line up-date next week. Is it ok to have the jardine on a new bike without any run time? They said I didnt need any other mods for the bike to run properly with the jardine? I am not looking for performance gains just a better sounding bike. Is it true that they can just slap it on and I can run it? |

Yep. Keep the stock can for later (in case you change your mind) and I'd add the K&N air filter. Do that yourself if you can and while you're in there, take the active intake solenoid off. |

For the active intake I can just unplug it for now and part in part Buell part # Y0248.1AM? This forum is great and a lot of help. I have spent a couple hours reading past threads learning a ton about the 1125R. Thanks |

For the active intake , all I did was disconnect the cable and tie wrap the linkage , never had a problem or cel ! |

You can get a CEL if you meet the conditions to activate the 'noid. The only 100% sure way to not get the CEL is to make the change in the ECM. The CEL itself is not a problem, as it will go away the next time you start the bike. |

BTW, +1 on keeping the stock can. You just never know what you'll want to do down the road, so since you're already paying for it, might as well keep it (as long as you've got room to store it). |

+1 on keeping the stocker. At first I was going to get rid of my stocker and get an aftermarket exh. As time has passed I found I really like the sound of the stocker. Plus it has all the performance I want. |

My Jardine is on order, but I'm keeping the stocker just in case my idiot legislature votes to approve the mandatory motorcycle smog checks it is now considering. |

I got the bike today, the recall is done but the jardine was not there yet. I LOVE THE BIKE. I just cant find a road with a enough curves But when I got home my rear blinkers didn't work... Is this another common issue with the 1125? |

Update on the Jardine: I called them today and they said that (after they already fixed the previous bracket problem) they are having trouble with their supplier for carbon fiber. They are hoping to ship this week or next. They said they have "a million" orders to fill.
