Taken at Nelson Ledges Raceway (near Warren, OH), 3rd gear at about 90 to 100 mph, speed shift into 3rd, no tugging on bars...

If you don't use the clutch this won't happen. Not as fast with the front end up, but a lot of fun.

The best I have heard for just tuning on a stock bike is a little over 140rwhp.

You mean to tell me 10-15hp is enough to take a bike that needs help to wheelie in second to being an uncontrollable wheelie monster in third?????

Thats either extreme rider talent, or BS.

No BS. I've seen Buell Dave do it numerous times, Rider talent certainly comes into play. He has something of a storied past.
Tuning also plays a part. His maping is well known. Also, on the front stretch there is a bit of a hump at Nelson.
Not owning a Buell (yes, I know, I'm unfortunately not one of you YET!) I can't comment on its normall wheelie abilities, but I would think given its HP and torque, 3rd gear lifts would not be a problem.

Ah, a combination of rider talent, a little help from the track, and a great tune. That makes sense to me. I know of his tuning talents, and now I know of his riding talents.

This bike does not need help doing a wheelie in second gear. My bike is stock except for the throttlemeister and custom seats and it wheelies all the time when i shift to second with out even trying. I can cruise around in second and just blip the throttle and it stands up. Anywhere over 5k rpms
