Blake, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for starting this thread. Frankly in my 3000+ plus previous posts, I simply can not remember one where more heat and less light was generated. In case anyone in still interested at this juncture, the point of my original post was really about what appeared to me to be a misallocation of resources on be half of the Motor Company. Harley paid $109,000,000.00 for MV Agusta, an investment that does not have an obvious pay off to this retired business man. I would have rather seen the mothership work with Seimens on the 1125R Fuel injection since they already had a working relationship with Rotax, and since Buell was already having some fuel injection problems with it's 2008 XB's. Of course that is hindsight, and I do understand the logic of working with one fuel injections supplier across the board. In addition, I would have liked to see Harley go ahead with the new plant for Buell, which was nearing ground breaking. That seems like a better investment to me. That was the sole point of my post, and I am afraid that not a single subsequent poster addressed those issues, although frankly, I did not read all of them. Looking back, I see I should have phrased the post differently. I only referred to Aprilia because I had been working on one that day when the thought occurred to me. If I may take the liberty of apologizing twice in the same post, I regret starting a post that ending up so poorly, and I hope it never happens again. Thank you for all you have done to make this an outstanding board, and an integral part of the Buell experience for many, many owners. Best Jonathan |

Jonathan, I think that the purchase of MV Agusta and the other associated brands was for the purpose of acquiring the technology that MV had as well as a notable brand name. I believe that the timing was right for the purchase and it was a business decision that HD had to make. The opportunity was there and the long term payout of owning the technology, brands, and probably most important of all,, increasing the presence in the EU market, was more important than investing that money elsewhere. Regardless, the fuel issues and such were already in the works and being addressed. I do not think it was a clear decision of either one or the other. Just my take. Hopefully, we will start seeing the MV technology appear in HD and Buell motorcycles soon. Mike |

Before I got my 1125 I thought life couldn't get any better. Wow! Was I wrong!! Now at 59 I race a motorcycle that goes 160+. It's so stable I'm hardly ever afraid (maybe I'm not pushing enough?). At my home track, every pro racer that rides it comes back with the same comment, "that bike works! It's a fun ride!". If you don't like the 1125, don't worry Sally, there's gotta be a simple Jap bike out there for you some where! |

Let's hope and pray that they do not try to sell MVs at H-D dealerships .. and that they see the light and take Buell outta there, too. So far, I've seen just one advantage of going to the Harley dealership: I'm closer to the median age by a long shot compared to the median at my Ducati dealer haha |

Wow, this has been an interesting thread to read I am one one of the few that had an engine go bad. I have also had nearly every problem everyone else has had on their 08'. At one point (after the bike being in the shop for a couple months), thought about selling it because of all the issues. But, after riding it again for a few hours, that all goes away. My dealer has done a pretty decent job of taking care of me, and buell has paid for everything under warranty. This I know would not have happened for other makes, and even for some car/truck manufacturers. In fact, our honda rear end went bad after 1 year and 20K miles and I had to foot the bill, even though it was a known issue. I have been a bit annoyed with all the little issues (it's a first year bike, it's to be expected), but with the exception of the engine failure and front brake like blowing out and spraying me with fluid, I have always been able to ride, and enjoy nearly every mile. Blake you and the other "real" enthusiast just lost Buell another sale. Calling other customers trolls liars etc. Some family. If no one will stand for a better Buell shut the doors because without true help Buell a lost. Makes me sad for the country. You will not see me again. |

Brapbrapbrap. The sound heard in the TV lounge at an old folks home after a chili dinner. This thread smells like it too. G |

"Makes me sad for the country." Man, you are such a patriot. Risking it all to come on to a motorcycle forum and bash the brand like you do "You will not see me again." And what a loss to the forum. Who will pick up with the incessant whining about how the 1125 looks? Who will inform every new, prospective customer, about all the troubles.......OTHER people are having? Bye |

Not gonna buy something you claim to like from a company you claim to love because some dudes on a message board were mean to you? Sounds like a cop out to me, or maybe just a have not jealous of the haves? |

No need to apologize Jon. I can see that your intent was positive and not antagonistic or the like. Here's hoping you only positive experience in the future and please don't take too much of the negative you see here to heart. I was heartened to see how many 1125 owners were bragging on how reliable their machines have been and how they were very satisfied with them. |

"Blake, Ya outta give Mainstreamer the same speech." Why Ben.... because my experience and perceptions are different then yours?? I've owned 2 Buells put over 50K miles on them in total. I've been riding for 48 years and currently have a stable of bikes that I'm very pleased with. I'm a motorcycling enthusiast, not a motorcycle enthusiast. Perhaps some day Buell will produce another product I'll want to own. BMC and their products are not perfect, none are, life bites! Get over it. |

Madav8tr, this is the wrong place to ask that question if you want an objective answer. Most here are high on cool aid and in lust with their 1124 penis extender! No mainstreamer, for comments like this. There is a ton of them. I even remember one where you said it was fun being the troll or something to that effect. Pity, in all your riding years and miles you never learned what this is all about. |

Announcing proudly to all here that "Perhaps some day Buell will produce another product I'll want to own" pretty much indicates that you don't belong here. |

Remember, Buell people CAN BE CRUEL,SELF SERVING, BIGOTED people." I stop by here on occasion for an update and a giggle, ya got to love the 'faithful' and their one sided thinking!! I was thinking a combination of those two gave me the impression you liked to troll. |
