i dont do it because when i feel frisky i just power wheelie. but clutching up the bike makes for a more stable motorcycle. does popping the clutch with a slipper clutch cause excessive damage? |

Josh: Ask yourself when does a slipper clutch work? WHat do you mean by excessive?? Anyway, even at my weight I have no problem powering up the front wheel in 1st and 2nd gear with control. Just get in touch with the way your bike feels and modulate your right hand. |

ccryder thanks but im really lookin for a answer to the ?. forget the slipper part of the clutch. lets say does it hurt ur clutch when using it to wheelie. i have no problem doing power wheelies. their effortless. now this is with the drummer and some other stuff done to it. but clutching up the bike is easier becuase ur not goosing the throttle and chasing ur tail getting it up to the balance point. clutching it up allows u to do it a a slow speed. anyone with any experience with clutch wear doing trick? |

In general I can attest to clutching up wheelies on literbikes for 20 yrs with never a clutch issue, whether 1st thru 4th gear. I don't own a 1125, but from the rides I've done, the trans feels good & unless someone knows differently, I wouldn't think the clutch/trans are any weaker than a typical sport bike. I'd say 1st & 2nd shouldn't hurt anything, third takes a pretty hard rev & snap, so I wouldn't recommend that on a regular basis myself. Just my best guess input. |
