I'm leaving tomorrow am from Austin to Tucson then to Willow for the track day on Monday. Anyone else going to be there? Obviously I'll be on an 1125R, 08. I'm meeting a group for FZ6 buds there. Pete |

Got back from eight days on the road last night, Austin to Willow Springs and back. We had a great time visiting with family and friends along the way. Willow was a blast! Turns 2 and 8/8a just go on forever! Very fun. It took a good part of the day but I got a good handle on the track but I'm still giving away tons of time on 8/8a and into 1. The scale of the speed is simply amazing.

Willow has been my home track for 25 yrs and yes it is a very fast track. The trick with turn 8 is you you need to be wot then way late apex for 9. Big balls! Turn 1 is just late braking. 1 downshift back wot. What kind of times were you running? The last racing I did out there was in a Lola T300 F 5000, boy I do miss the place. Glad you had fun and no testing the leathers. Mike |

I was pretty slow, the best lap was a 1:41. Most were 1:45/7ish. The omega turn was my favorite part. What a cool set or corner! You're not joking about big balls, man! |

Hey that's respectable for the first time at Willow. It's a very intimidating track and takes time. The omega is all set up coming up the hill out of 3. When done well it's a double apex back to the inside of the exit. That sets up the whole back of the track. |

I agree, turn 3 is the key to being fast in the back half of the track. I noticed that while I gave up time in 8, I got it right back in 2 through 5, usually passed them back by 3. I'll probably never have the opportunity to ride it again but if I do I'll jump at it. |

Well I hope you get the chance again. If you do I'll try to run out here. Meanwhile I'd like to get down to Austin for some Blues and Bar-Bq. I love Texas, I was born in Snyder but have'nt been there since I was 2. Mike |
