is there no switch, or is something wrong with mine ? don't ask how I know  , but lets just say my bike will drive through a parking lot with the sidestand down. my tuber will cut engine if it is down and clutch released... | ||

No switch. It's designed to retract if you should ride off with it down & makes a GADAWFUL racket when it does. DAMHIK. | ||

yeppers, the sound was scarey, got my attention right quicketty! been riding some form of motorcycle for around 35 years, don't think I have EVER pulled off with a kickstand down,till last night. Musta been too busy admiring this awesome machine | ||

i ride off with my sidestand down constantly and it irritates the piss out of me i would love to fab in the kickstand switch into my bike even though it didnt originally come with it. it makes no sense to me that they would have the mounting point there and ready for the bike, yet not put the switch there??? | ||

If that's so, makes sense to have the mounting point on all bikes from a manufacturing perspective. It's not on US models probably because of all the moaning & groaning they got over the switches on all previous models. (Besides saving a couple of pennies as well) They listened to their customers & removed the switch. As a result, new customers are now complaining about the lack of a switch. It's a Catch-22. Myself, I'm good without it. Thank you Buell. | ||

I believe the part number for the switch is SWITCH, SIDESTAND Y0800.1AMC Price $84.55 I don't have a 08 1125R manual so I can't confirm thats the right part. Personally I hated the switch on my older bikes, they were annoying and tend to fail. | ||

It would if they are trying to save a few bucks and not irritate the majority of riders? Do you leave your turn signal on after completing the turn? That could be construed as a safety hazard as well. It should be automatic to check your kickstand before riding--just like it should be automatic to click off the signal after making the turn. The sidestand switch is just something waiting to leave you stranded. I would not be happy if BMC decides} to put the swtich back on for future models. +1 on what you said, Fresno Damn the kickstand switch! I hated it on my other bikes. The only thing worse than taking off with your kickstand down is doing it and having the bike die on you too, in my opinion. Mike | ||

i did it once. got my attention. It is definately something you should check automatically before you ride off. Coming off of two Harley's I definately should have known better. | ||

After three required MSF courses to ride on military posts... Basic, Experienced, Sport Bike. It's a habit for sure now. Every time I put it in gear I glance down to double check. Clutch, Click, Check. It did happen to me once at a gas station because I was in a hurry and boy did I feel like a retard after it scared the fuzz nut out of me. lol |
