Has anyone tried bead blasting, using relatively low pressure and glass beads, any of the 1125r plastic? How did it work? I'm thinking about trying it for a couple of reasons: 1. The shine is really, really hard to maintain, and I actually like a matte finish, anyway, and 2. all the tax assessors in town have gone to laser, and it makes sense to be as dull as possible. Thoughts? |

Sand it with 600 grit sandpaper and clear coat it with a matte finish clear coat. Rustoleum makes an awesome matte finish clear. If you bead blast it you'll have a white/gray finish on your plastics, it'll look like crap IMO. |

I painted my front fairing and pods matte black for about $40 and some manual labor. If you want some pics I can send you an email, I never can get my pics to show up right on here. Nick |

Yeah - I'd recommend a matte-finished GOOD clear coat You really ought to use a polyurethane or catalyzed acrylic. |

The "plastic" is Dupont Surlyn. Here is their web site on the product: http://www2.dupont.com/Surlyn/en_US/products/surly n_reflections.html Lot's of paints will stick to it, just remember it is pretty flexible. Another no maintenance finish that has been used is truck bed liner. Rhino liner I think it was. |
