I don't know if it's me or what. But I ran the D&D pipe on my 1125r and didn't like how loud it was so I put the stock one back on, now it sounds like there is a loud chatter coming from the top end of the engine, if I pull in the clutch the sound goes away. I only hearing it when I am either hard on the throttle or when I am downshifting. The funny thing is that I did not notice it before I put the D&D on it. I have checked for exhaust leaks (sometimes they produce a tapping sound at the header) and found nothing. I am baffled and scared because now I don't wanna ride it too much or too hard. Has anyone else had this problem or heard of this? |

It is under warranty ride it until it blows up. But seriously, how many miles were on before you put the pipe on and then after you took the pipe off? My bike has gotten louder the more miles I put on it. Jimmy |

I had maybe 700 or so, and now I have barely broken a 1000. It almost sounds like a rod is knocking but when I pull the clutch in or its at a smooth idle the sound is not heard. |

Its probably valve train noise. It was driving me nuts with my stock muffler. But if you feel its wrong take it in to have the service guy check it out. You didn't happen to remove your inner air box as well did you. Because the noise will be louder than when the cover is on. |

No, I haven't removed anything. My local dealership doesn't know dick about Buells other than that they sell them. Every time I do go in there they tell me that there is another guy who bought an 1125 (a customer) and knows everything there is to know about them and tells me to wait and ask him. If I had the time to follow up with it I would let the Buell factory know that their dealers don't know what they're doing, and to be honest I don't even know if they would care or not. |

Theres nothing to worry about man, ALL 1125's do this and the reason u couldnt hear it before is because you couldnt hear it over the d&d... trust me the harder you ride her, the more she likes it Jake |

I also don't think you have an issue. It was likely there in the beginning, but the lack of it when the D&D was on just highlights it now that it's off. |

The sound you are hearing is the rear, yea, I think it's the rear, ignition firing too soon. That is, there's too much advance on the rear spark plug at idle. One of the reasons why it sounds so lumpy, vibrates, revs slowly... |

I just bought my 1125r and it has the same sound, just like the gsxr 600 i just traded for it, sounds like a sewing machine on steroids! Drivetrain chater, its a suped up crotch rocket and the noise is typical, ride the hell out of it and put the loud exhaust back on and make all those rice burners jealous. |
