These truncated 1 hour glimpses of the race pretty much suck. I wish they's do a little of this for NASCAR re-runs to give more open time slots for a full race to be televised. |

The Buell wasn't really seen as much as it was heard. Overall, I think it did well considering it's down on hp compared to it's comp. Although I think that will change soon enough. Stared 18th Finished 18th. |

Hooliagn was talking about the Superbike race and Shawn who rode his SportBike spec Buell in that class. In the SportBike race that followed, which Blake is describing, Danny Eslick started 2nd and won. I think Shawn was 15th in SportBike. Makes you wonder where Danny might finish in Superbike on his SportBike with the Superbike allowed slicks? Certainly not a win there, but top ten? |

I just watched both from last nite. They were running 1.24 in Superbike (with slicks?) and Eslick ran 1.28 in Sportbike on the Dunlop tires. His lead was 2.5 seconds or so over the rest of the racers. Loved the wheelie at the end, nearly a 1/4 of a mile long at speed. |

Yep. Shawn was 2 seconds faster on slicks with a virtually identical bike in both classes. The SportBike tires are super hard tread. So 1:26's for Danny on slicks maybe? Shawn was not feeling well at all, and was doing both classes with only two people helping. Total privateer deal of the toughest kind. But he had a solid payday, which wouldn't have happened in the old AMA! |

I am so ticked . . . I fell asleep. My wife is running around today raving that "he was so far ahead they didn't show him, just the guys behind him" and carrying on about how cool the wheelie down the straight was. Youtube???? . . . . I need video! |

Ok, embedding didn't work for crap for me, sorry. Look along the bottom of the player, there's a button to make it full size (4 little arrows pointing out) and it's a pretty decent feed. http://www.speedtv.com/video/popup/17937021001 (Message edited by d_adams on March 29, 2009) |

Court, Replay 3am on 3/31 DVR's rule, I have four of them. I thought Danny was going to lose it on the wheelie! What was he thiking? 130+MPH crossed up wheelie on the banking across the finish linelooked cool though (Message edited by two_buells on March 29, 2009) |

Eh...Danny pulling a mono at those speeds to him is about as difficult as riding a tricycle is to us. |

I don't know...Danny looked to be getting a little squirrely toward the end of the wheelie. I know I was hoping he didn't turn the victorious finish into some sort of blooper reel. |

Lol... It was abit wiggly at the end. Danny seems to be a little new to the win, not yet ready or able to take it with grace. Rightly so .... He's a young winner. I just hope he doesn't go over board with any of his future victory celebrations. Go Buell & Danny ! |

Anyone notice his left leg interior boot lace strap was flopping around in the clip? Hard to see unless you are looking. Not that I was actually looking for it...I was trying to take a good look at his riding position when I noticed the velcro tab floppin around and kinda got nervous, then I realized it was a pre recorded race and settled down. Sweet race! Go Buell! Go America! |

Unlike the burnout, everyone loves a wheelie. A win is a win, this one was "The" win! Go Buell & Danny ! |

I keep watching that last lap over and over . . . telling that the announcers, ostensibly impartial, made the comment about having 6 different brands in the top 8 and the amazing parity with which the bikes have been matched. That quarter mile wheelie could not have been a better photo op for Buell's FIRST AMA WIN! |

I just hope he doesn't go over board with any of his future victory celebrations. Gimme an f'ing break. You CAN'T be serious. That was the coolest victory wheelie I have ever seen. I hope he does it EVERY chance he gets, lead permitting. With his style and charisma, Danny WILL make Buell fans. You can guarantee it. He can smoke up a tire too! That's was almost as cool as the wheelie. |

Yeah, I am serious, that's why I wrote what I wrote and there's nothing wrong with me having an opinion. So calm down with the profanities. There's nothing wrong with a victory wheelie but do it after you won the race not before you cross the line. Just supposed he would have fell before he crossed the line,(the wheelie had a bit of wobble). It would have taken him more then 2.5 seconds to get back on his bike. Not to mention it looks a little obnoxious considering all the "unfair competition BS flying around. Don't get it wrong, i'm happy to see Buell making moves. Danny should celebrate .... As I said before. |

No one has mastered the victory celebration better than Rossi. Best one ever was when he ran to the port-a-john. This celebration ain't bad either:

during the interview, they show a short clip and you can see something kinda hanging off the rear left side of the RMR Buell anybody else notice it looks a bit like a "lens cap" dangling |

Not to mention it looks a little obnoxious considering all the "unfair competition BS flying around. First off, most wheelies are across the finish line, not after. Remember that this was Eslick's first AMA win, Buell's first AMA win AND he just ran nearly a perfect race. Wheelie away, Danny. Secondly, taking risks is what these guys do for a living. He knew exactly what he was doing. The wobble was the combo of being on one wheel, high speed (130mph), acceleration & banking. If it makes you feel better, he didn't start wobbling until he crossed the finish line. Lastly, I am not saying that Eslick is Rossi, but who remembers Rossi flipping off Biaggi. That was a risk, but we are still talking about it years later. Eslick's does have flair (like Rossi) & a happy go lucky attitude (like Rossi.) NO he's not Rossi, just saying they have some similar qualities. |

Hooligan, just my opinion but I completely disagree with you. In one sense I think that wheelie was kind of an in your face, "up yours" to the competition. In another I think it was kind of an announcement to the racing world that "Danny is in the house". Regardless of what anyone`s opinion is it was one hell of a bad ass demonstration and a hell of a way to punctuate his win. It makes me all the more happier and prouder to be an 1125R owner. |

No, most wheelies are done AT or AFTER the line. This is not the first race i've seen. I know why the bike wobbled that's not an issue nor a question, what's your point. When the wobble started is also not the issue. He had no control over when the wobble started. Therefore it could have started anytime. What does Rossi gestures have to do with this ? I think you're reading to much into my initial post or maybe you just like to cyber argue ! If you read my initial post you would have really had no need to reply. Here it is again for you: "Lol... It was abit wiggly at the end. Danny seems to be a little new to the win, not yet ready or able to take it with grace. Rightly so .... He's a young winner. Dalton your opinion is noted...... |

About the exhaust note: still can't get a sense of how loud Danny's bike was from SPEEDtv online. I was there and it was louder than the loudest Harley or sportbike I've ever heard. |
