Go here for the Shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulben701/sets/72157 615957888274/ I asked the team manager about "Joe Average" obtaining their Race Exhaust-he said,"You don't want one of those, they're too loud." I have to say that this exhaust was unbelievably thunderously LOUD! I'm not exaggerating. Therefore...I have to get one! The shots were taken after Eslick won this Sunday’s AMA Pro Daytona SportBike race at Auto Club Speedway - the bike was just rolled into the inspection pit. See shots of ECM too! Note: shots can be enlarged by hitting the 'ALL SIZES' button just above the photo. (Message edited by nickdagger on March 28, 2009) (Message edited by nickdagger on March 28, 2009) |

I wanted to add that the factory guys told me that the 1125R's engine was running completely stock. The rear sprocket, ECM, Exhaust (of course), controls, and other things were obviously changed. |

I wonder why Danny's bike has a cut down upper fairing (it's appears very narrow compared to say Shawns)? Wouldn't the stock width one be more aerodynamic? Are they allowed to modify the AMA approved bodywork in this way? |

What's the white thumbwheel control for and the left handlebar? |

The knob appears to be an adjuster for the front brake lever. |

Man, did you see the size of the gas cap on that thing? Wow. Race exhaust looks slick! *Added to "When I Win The Lottery List"* Anyone ever been to www.geicogarage.com good video of Mr. Buell on the assembly line talking about his babies. |

I guess Brazil is no longer a secret. The gas cap is a stock gas cap. (Message edited by court on March 27, 2009) |

Nice. For free insurance, I'd put a Geico replica paint job on my bike. |

What's the white thumbwheel control for on the left handlebar? And why is it white in one photo and black in another? Different bikes? Good catch Court I missed that! Front brake lever adjustment maybe, or possible some engine or clutch adjustment? Slaughter or Doerman any idea? Inquiring minds want to know? |

The gas cap is a stock gas cap. good one court. you are correct. it looks like a stock gas cap off of A buell, just not the 1125! the surrounding area is by no means stock though(except maybe on the xbrr?) |

The knob is for damping adjustment. |

Brazil.... Does Buell have their own facility in Brazil or are they using a contractor? I assume this is for the Blast model[s] as there's not much of a market for large-displacement MC's in Latin America. Interesting. I tho't I knew everybody building or planning to build bikes there. Guess not... |

The knob on the left bar is for damping what? The knobs I saw ALL went to the front master cylinder for an adjustment there. Don't know if it's lever pull adjustment or what, but they all went straight into the center of the front master cylinder.... No damping there.? Mike |

it is a Nissin master cylinder. The knurled know on the top (pointing forward) is to adjust the lever pull, like Mike indicated. |

What in the world are those rear tires in third photo? Looks like cross country tires or something. WTF? |

The aggressive tread on one of the Buells is for rain racing. It was a cloudy day in Fontana and one bike had smooth race tires, the other rain tread. Also, you guys are detail oriented! I was taking pictures of two bikes so one thumb-wheel on the handle bar was white, the other black. One set up for rain racing the other dry racing. I was shooting as quick as I could, I thought I was going to get told to get lost. |

The tread is a Dunlop turbine rain tire. The adjuster knob is for adjusting the brake lever to adjust for brake fade in the lever. When the brakes get hot the lever feel will soften and the lever itself will get closer your fingers. This adjuster allows the rider to push the brake lever out to where it should be. Done "on the fly" so to speak. |

To clarify: The Bruce Rossmeyer/RMR/Geico Buell Team is not a "Factory" team nor is the machine a "Factory" bike. It is VERY misleading to characterize the team and the bike as such. Paul (Nickdagger), could you please correct that mistake on your photo page? I'll do likewise for the title of this thread. Thanks! And thanks again for the great photos. Very nice! |
