Way to go Buell Racing!! If the Yamakawahonduki guys thinks it only takes displacement to win, give them a 130hp V8 for all I care. |

Hacking was especially courteous by cleaning his leathers while Eslick was talking and he seemed to enjoy all the booger picking.

"If it's all about the engine cc's, how come Buell didn't sweep the top 5, with the Aprillia right behind them??? " Why isn't Buell competitive in Superbike? People here like to use HP as an excuse for Buell in Superbike but don't see the 525 cc advantage and 40 HP advantage they are getting in Daytona Sportbike. |

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Don't the 600 cc bikes have somewhere in the 120's for horsepower stock? |

Yep, 400 lb privateer bikes with 140RWHP competing against 365 lb factory bikes with 130RWHP. Real unfair. Man the losers are not on the track; they are on the internet! |

I guess what I was getting at is there isn't a terrible difference when you weigh out the specs! I've been going back and fourth with this with a friend of mine all day about this. He's a big Suzuki fan. |

Excuse me Fresno,I was talking stock bike and I guess its more like 20 to 30 HP more If you don't think the IL4 teams aren't tuning their bikes to get as much of the 140HP maximum, you're crazy. The spread between the HP at the wheel isn't that much. |

>>Tell me Anony what made Eslick's bike so much faster that the other 1125's? I think you have to give Eslick a lot of credit. He got dropped from the "A list" and knew he'd never have another shot at the majors. At 22 he has a bit of the piss and vinegar with a liberal dose of skill. We'll be seeing more Buells doing well this year. |

Privateer refers, typically, to lack of factory (like the $7,000,000 Honda budget) backing. Many privateers, in fact nearly ALL, seek and get private contributions. I've sponsored several race teams over the years and enjoyed it. The folks at Geico seem to be enjoying the Buell as well . . . . easy on the pocket, lots of positive exposure and just plain fun group of enthusiasts. I was intrigued, at the 2009 Porsche Launch, on Saturday that 2 of my car buddies who ride "other brands" are now Buell curious and want me to arrange demo rides for them. |

"If you don't think the IL4 teams aren't tuning their bikes to get as much of the 140HP maximum, you're crazy." Notice I said stock. I thought this was race class was going to be great for racing because the "privateers" were going to have a chance, I guess that only applied to Buell riders, and if anyone believes that the Buell is a "Privateer "effort in the true sense of the word, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. |

IMO...... I think you will see Buell competitive in superbike in years to come. Give them time to get their feet wet. I also think we're going to see just much that Rotax motor can be worked in the not so distant future. This is a new day for Buell .... I previously owned a Duc, this Rotax is an impressive motor. |

Stock or not, the bikes are close in terms of overall performance. The Buell may have an advantage in the HP/TQ department but it has disadvantages in the weight and braking department. The results from yesterday prove it as does the fact that the fastest laps of the race were set by 600's. Personally, I think that Eslick just flat out rode better than Hacking or DiSalvo or Cardenas.
