Yep, that is my bike. Finding the spools to purchase is pretty easy, just google them or look on ebay I guess.

Thread Hijack!

On the '09's that come with the little spool/slider thingies, is there any particular stand make for them, or do you just adjust one to fit?

I haven't really felt a need for a stand in my daily routine, but it would be handy when changing oil...

Recomendations as to brands?

R

Based on the pics of the inner swingarm and the '09 model specs, it's looks as though Buell planned for spools on the '08, but didn't get around to it, due to the VERY rushed nature of the 1125R debut. I imagine this is very safe if you keep the holes small and withing the hex described in the instructions.

On the '09's that come with the little spool/slider thingies,

THE 09 HAVE THE SAME THINGIES?

JT -- Nobody told me it was ok to drill there, I just looked at it and decided it would be fine structurally. There's a raised area there that serves no other purpose and is ideal for this. They're lined up exactly from what I saw, so I took a chance.

The 09 has them, but they moved the location to the bottom of the swingarm. I don't know the part number. I only made this for myself originally, then figured, eh, why not see if anyone else wants one too? I don't know the buell part # but they won't fit without modifying them anyway. Mine are pre-curved to fit the swingarm.

I sell them, pm sent.

CBF -- I used the standard convertible PitBull stand. It's got the coated pins on one side and the V-hooks on the other. I had to spread it some to make it work.

D,

Is is safe to assume that they double as swing arm sliders? Heaven forbid.

Yes, they stick out far enough to function like that, but I haven't crashed yet, so I don't know for 100% sure. It's been a number of years since I've had a crash on a bike, so I guess I'm due for one. It's only a matter of time.

Wow! I didn't know that little hex shape boss was there. What a little piece of buried treasure.
They must have meant it to be used for that.

I put a set on my bike. They work great. I did have to put a few washer on my lift to give a little more height.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but how has this modification stood up thus far? Anyone crashed with it yet? Did they break off or are they still going strong?

Any of the anon/Buell Engineers have any problems with this placement?

I don't own a 1125r yet, but I am just trying to expand my knowledge.
