Thanks gents! How long before i can start stomping on the throttle? I know the dealer gives you really conservative numbers like not over 50mph until 50 miles on the clock and no redline till after 500 miles or first service. How did you guys break you bikes in? |

I was just thinking we need another break-in thread! Brings out the loonies... (Not that that's difficult here.) I did a half and half. Tried to follow the break in recommended by the factory, but just couldn't stand it, and stretched the cables a few times during the first 500. No ill effects. Congrats! R |

Read your owner's manual re break in. Don't rely on dealer advice. That break in procedure doesn't sound correct, unless they changed it for 2009. |

I rode from Stone Mountain GA to New York when I got my bike. Didn't take it past 6k rpm the whole way. Got it up to 115 for a good stretch of road. |

You are going to love your bike... having a bad day? Just look at it. I find excuses to take walks outside the office just so I can pass it in its parking space. At restaurants, I get a table so I can look at it outside, parked. At home I go into the garage and stare at it. And I haven't even mentioned how great it feels to ride it. I think I need help... Congrats! |

Stone Mountain Rocks no pun intended. I bought the first one there, never any grief from them for any reason. |

Congrats....if you're married give your a wife of picture of your and a picture of your bike...she won't see much of any of you come summer. An you better work on your excuses for your First Sergeant...he just won't understand Too bad you didn't buy a black one as they are notably faster (at least in 08 they were)...you know what they say, once you've gone black you can't throttle back. I beg to differ, the white (especially 08') are faster, handle better, and turn WAY more heads, u know what they say "once you go white you better hold on tight" . Jake |

Jake I will concede... "once you go white you better hold on tight" Because the shock wave of that Black one as it passes you will knock you off your ride...me.

The Diamond Blue is a beautiful deep metalflake... when it's under 10 or 12 coats of clear lacquer. Nice ride, Russ. I flipped when I first saw our white one. Tho, I'm very partial to # 154, Loretta. Z |

yeah if the shock wave is from realizing how much better the white one is, and the reason u passed is because of the old asian lady on the gixxer in front of me Jake |

Well, I saw a white one at a dealer the other day, and to my thinking it looks great. I thought I'd like red the best, but I gotta say the white ones are beautiful. I don't know if my old fat body could take the riding position for an all day ride, but it was the first bike I have thought about trading my bike in on. I didn't do it though. My son was with me and told me he didn't think I'd like the riding position for long, since I've never had a sport bike. I don't know. It sure looked good. The white color seems to minimize the big radiator covers. The CR with the accessory handles fits me way better, but I think the lack of a fairing makes the radiators look much worse. Just one man's opinion. |

Jake, when she grows up she will be a heart breaker, she's already into rock n roll and wants a 125cc bike with Buell on the tank rather than Triumph - her dad's bike |

Sorry to hijack this thread... Big schwerm, didn't you trade in a Nightster for the 1125R? I think I saw a pic of this bike on an HD forum. If so, what did you think of the Nightster? I was thinking of getting one. I'd have to give up my ZX-10R for it, though. |
