i stripped down the rear of the 1125 today to see where the sub frame mounts are.  what i found was on the left side the mounts are quite close together,  and on the right very close but the rear shock is mounted to the top hole.   if i were to make up a bracket for the left side, as i cant really weld new mount on fuel tank. re drill and cut sub frame on right to fit and to clear shock just a thought, any input much appreciated | ||

haha so do i still dunno if i wanna go ss or s i want it short but not ridiculously short. gotta get into contact with machine shop, i havent got any equipment so will be getting sorted elsewhere seems there will be clearance issue on shock side, so will have to look into that heres my photochop of it with a ss rear  | ||

With the 54" wheelbase, I think the SS tail would look more proportional. And really, really cool! | ||

yeah thats what i was thinking, i like the form of the s seat tho compared to the ss seat could fix that with recovering seat. | ||

Looks like a good project. Make sure you have enough room for your battery and the rest of the undertail goodies. The undertail pan on the 1125 is bigger(deeper) then the XB/XBR. | ||

Also - make sure the VR has a heavy plate of aluminum to sink the heat. Good luck, I want to see it. I still think of putting a Uly tail on Loretta. Z | ||

due to this not being a close to direct swap as i once thought, this project will take a while, me and the missus saving for a holiday first, so sit tight all, this will be done eventually Tic | ||

it looked as if u could raise the rear up and the top left hole would swing in to possibly make it work. | ||

yeah thats what id probly do, its bout 2mm out so would need to re drill, or cut and reweld, thats the only xb part i got at moment, once i get the rest of the gear (about 800AU$) then ill fit all together see if seat fits in with it raised a bit. | ||

Where in Oz are ya Mark? If you where in South East Qld I could help you out. By looking at your picture holding the right subframe section, I'd cut it and then TIG weld in a fill piece. I've got a ACDC Tig and I have thought of this exact mod if I purchased a 1125CR. Let me know  | ||

im in perth, long way to do some tig welding haha, i gotta few mates with gear and a bit more knowledge on welding than me, cheers for the offer tho. looks way better with the lightning rear i reckon. might lift it a little for the streetfighter style. | ||

YOU CAN DO IT!!!  You know as soon as you do, they'll come out with a factory 1125S. But that don't matter. Do it anyway! |
