My kingdom for more fuel... Wish I had a laptop to use the rewrite method currently available...the handle bars are too wide to get the bike thru the bedroom door to the computer! Does anyone make a 75ft. cable? Just a short rant! Other than I'm afraid of burning this thing up, I'm liken my new CR so far. The headlight lights up the night sky fairly well at 5:30 in the morning. Though the vibration of the mirrors comes close to sucking... Mike (Message edited by 1_mike on January 06, 2009) |

The lean thing is a problem for all of us. If I was you, I'd take it back to the dealer and ck the vin to see if there is any recalls or such for this. My 08R was remapped and runs A LOT better. I think the 09CR has the maping done already, or at least is set from the factory. Wanna trip out? Start up and let idle. At night with no streetlight around. Look at your pipes at the head. Tell us what you notice then. You maynot want to ride it if you are nervious now..... |

It's still a mystery to me why a group of very smart engineers at Buell would purposely make a map that would damage the bike. I'm betting it is a bit lean for EPA regs, but I don't think I've heard of anyone overheating. |

I would not blame the engineers as much as I would either Marketing or the bean counters that said get this product out when the 2008's were clearly not ready for prime time. And the 09's continue to stamp out the remaining baby fires. No pun intended.} |

Speaking of the handle bars being too wide. I put my bike in my finished basement for the winter. My wife loves the fuel smell. |

I have actually bought two laptops on ebay recently that I'm using for tuning. (one for shop, one for home) Got em for about $200 each. I'm just sayin. The software doesn't need heavy duty computing to work for you. The seller re-conditions them and so far (2 for 2) - he's been a good dealer for me and emails back right away. Shoot me a note if you are interested in one - I can shoot you his seller links. |

You're right Buellborn. Does seem like the '08 model had some issues that should have never made it into production. I want a CR, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking that Buell will come out with an 1125 Ulysses and have all the bugs fixed and I should just wait for what I really, really, really want. |

I hope your not talking about me I'm very pro Buell. But just like a republican that thinks he/she does not have to blanket policy everything they produce ie George Bush or anything else sub standard. You CAN be pro Buell and still truthfull about a less than perfect product. In fact you may help the brand more if you are/ Defending the 1125 rollout it at all cost comes off like a used car salesperson, If you will believe in a world with working taillights the dream can come true, but you have to want it. CUSTOMER is that oil under their? SALESPERSON no that's sweat from all that muscle. I'm just saying.... |

Most people have an old $h!tbox desktop sitting around in the garage. Basically from what I understand, if it will boot up and turn on, it'll run the software. Someday we will all have Garage Computers! Scary thought. R |

Yeah...computers in the shop is mandatory. I have an old laptop and a desktop in my shop. I use them for connecting to the bike as well as PDF repair manuals I have. Saran wrap on the keyboard keeps the grease off. Learned that from working in a Chinese restaurant. LOL! (Message edited by chadhargis on January 07, 2009) |

This probably will help your mirror vibration, it did mine: I does make a BIG difference in the higher frequency vibrations in the mirrors. The lower frequency vibrations are still there but a little reduced. It does make a noticeable improvement in the clarity of the image in the mirror. Maybe about a 60% improvement in clarity. I did try one at a time so I could see the difference and in that scenario, it was VERY noticeable. Needless to say, both mirrors are now RTV'd. One hint, don't cut the nozzle too big, it tends to make more of a mess. Too small can be time consuming and a pain in the wrist. Later Neil S. |

+1 for Ccryder's silicone mirror vibration reduction! I've followed his lead in that mod and am very happy with the results. |

Yes you can. My advice is to get them pretty close b4 the RTV. If you miss the adjustment you can run an X-acto blade around the mirror to break the seal. I had to do it to the right side and could not tell any difference b/t it and the left. Later |
