Ok so i got everything i need to take off the mirrors and i have bar end mirrors(third-eye) and i dont know how to take the end caps off the handle bars... i know its kind of a stupid question, but how do u take the end caps off the bars????? Thanx Jake P.S.- on an R if that makes a difference.. | ||

I just used pliers they are simple push-ins.  what bar ends did you go with? | ||

Mine felt like they had a bit of loctite on them, needed vice grips and a fair bit of force, mashed them to the point of not being re-useable but I guess you aren't planning on putting them back. Should be reasonably straight forward. | ||

I used pliers as well to take mine off. They are just pressed into the end of the bar. Mike | ||

mine had a glue substance as well as a tight fit use "water pump" pliers and rotate before pulling (Message edited by bobup on December 30, 2008) | ||

k thanx alot guys i went with the third eye mirrors like carbonbigfoot has on his CR..and have the same turn-signals as crowley, 56$ later ...now to put them...will post pics when done.. Thanx Alot Jake | ||

well... it has been a little more complicated than originally predicted... first- the connectors for the signal where wrong, two males instead of one male & one female. Second- the factory has a 16GA wire, while the new signals have 20GA wire. Third- i had to make two sets of pig tail splices, so that i wouldnt have to mess up the factory connectors. Fourth- NOBODY carries 20GA bullet terminals(male ends) so i had to cut of the ends of the new signals and convert them to 16GA, and make almost all ends 16GA. Fifth- Now it is too late here to finish,because i have to drill out the middle hole on the fairing, so that the new signal's screw(plastic) can fasten to the bottom of the fairing bracket. And i might also have to put bolts back in the fairing to secure it, which will cause the signal to stick above the fairing, rather than be flush mount. If anybody has any ideas on how to make it flush, or any other input on this matter, PLEASE let me know... Thanx Jake | ||

WELL long story made short...THEY DIDNT FIT, without some hacking, so i just left it stock  .. sigh Jake |
