Since the third reflash, my current cluster flashes "COLD" instead of CT. It doesn't bother me much, I'm just sitting around waiting for it to warm up regardless of the display's output (actual CT or just "COLD"). |

I sorta like to time my gearing up according to the coolant temperature. I hate rushing to get everything on and still having quite a ways from 150. I would hate to sit there and stare at he readout, waiting for "COLD" to disappear. Call me anal. Hey Eric, your readout changed after the 3rd flash? It changed from flashing CT to "COLD"? If so, wonder why mine didn't. Just curious. |

Harlan, I'm pretty sure my bike flashed the CT when I took delivery of it, and I'm pretty sure it changed to flashing "COLD" after the 3rd flash, coulda been the 2nd though. Then again, maybe it never flashed the CT at all, and I just have a fuzzy memory! I have a May '08 build. |

My dealer mentioned a fourth flash to me about aweek ago and seeing i hadn't read about it here first i just dismissed it as he must have been dreaming, sounds like there must be a service bulletin somewhere, wish i still had my access to H-D Net. Regards Brett |

I would swear (and I do too much) that mine flashed "cold" from day one before any flashes were done (Jan '08 delivery) |

Loretta flashed the CT until 151 dF when it stopped flashing. Same after the mapping reflash. Then my IC died and I got an 09 IC. Flashes COLD, but I got the gear indicator. Z |

What is it suppose to fix? What he said. We've got people that work at dealers on here, what's the scoop??? Not that it matters to me, as my bike is resting comfortably for the 2009 riding season, but I'm still curious. |

Somebody with access to the service toolbox. Teach - you're in sales right? I'm in the parts dept; each dept has different access privileges. I haven't seen or heard anything. Z |

My dealer has my bike right now, and they say there are no new bulletins, regarding the instrument cluster or anything else (4th flash). I am in CA, so we might be the last to know? |

Zac4mac, Actually, Business Manager/salesman/motorclothes...they keep moving me around until they find something I can actually do!! I haven't read of anything....usually we find out these things on badweather first. When I look on hd-net I see recalls posted, If there is a 4th recall out there it has been kept a secret.... I am off tomorrow, but I will check with the service manager on Thurs. I would be very surprised if there is a 4th reflash.. I am in the process of going back to no O2's and remapping the ecu. Luckily I know this guy with the software I can purchase, the knowledge and I have the dyno. (Message edited by teach on December 16, 2008) |

04Z flash was done to my bike, it just came out like last week. The dealer didn't know what it corrects. |

The last calibration done to Loretta was M3HUS03Z. Vehicle info on H-Dnet says the same. The only open campaign I see is the one for sidestand spring/fuel line/dip stick. Nothing about an xxx04Z. Nothing I can do anyway, roads are still icy. It's up to 22 dF for the first time in 4 days. Z |

Maybe it's a secret tune that BMC doesn't want our big brothers to find out about....lol |

Its not on H-Dnet but if you go to program it will come up. At least that is the way I understood it. It ran great for the 10 feet it went from the trailer to the garage in the blizzard. |

The new flash is in Digital Tech only. You have to have the latest update for DT2 for it to be there. No bulletins on h-dnet. The instrument cluster is a Tech Tip issued by Buell on h-dnet. |

Is this true? What about California, does anyone know? My dealer didn't find anything. Doesn't mean it's not there. They are never too enthusiastic about doing anything on my 1125. |

So no one knows is this flash is real OR what it is supposed to do. Interesting. Anyone have the Tech Tip on the cluster to post up? |

I would hate to answer the phones when stuff like this is going on... If you think about it, it should make you really appreciate BadWeb AND what the dealers and BMC customer service techs go through. Perhaps more time and patience will give us another answer. |

Bpt, you seem to be in the lead here... are you affiliated with a dealer? Any other info? From your post it would seem that you have some working knowledge of H-D\Buell systems... Rob |

I work at a dealer. The flash is real, but I am not sure what it does. I loaded it last week on my bike and I have not noticed any difference. They constantly make changes to maps but not all of them have a notable change. I would not be in any hurry to do it until we find what the upgrade is. The tech tip for the cluster is #396. |

Thanks for the TT number Bpt. Most interesting was the blurb at the bottom. I have been getting spurious "low fuel error - b1005" since getting an '09 IC. Last screen in DM says SW 6.1 CAL 1.0 |
