Any ideas on relocating the ECM? The ECM is now mounted under the left pod. Looks vulnerable. Any ideas on where it could be relocated to? |

The only place I've seen any extra room is under the seat. That's where I plan on sticking the "abuse belt" Court is sending me. No idea if the cabling will reach or if you'd have to make jumpers/splices. Also it might get a bit warm for an ECM under there. Safest place tho, right under the twins... Z |

Well I crashed on the left side going 50 mph and the pod did exactly what it was designed to. New rad cover, ignition cover and oil line...good to go. |

Problem is that I have Flexiglass side panels that replace the stock pods. I also use my 1125 for racing. I think moving the ECM is a good idea. But thanks for the comment. |

Zack, you mean above the exhaust? I'm getting new exhaust soon I'll take a look. Thanks. |

I had a hard left side 60mph crash....didn't even touch it. Took out the whole left side though! |

Seems like I'm being misunderstood. I don't use the stock pods. Although I'm glad you did not suffer ECM damage when you crashed with the stock pods, that info does not help. BTW the first time I low-sided I was using the stock pods and didn't get any ECM damage. But you can see where it would be possible with lighter fiberglass panels. This is why I asked about relocating the ECM. BTW every non-Buell mechanic and racer that sees the ECM location comments on how it would be safer to move it.

Under the tail, behind the stock battery location, you should be able to find enough room now that your only racing. Happy soldering! mm |
