Now that Ducati's 1198 is on the way, any word on the Rumors of a 1125RR? |

The single R Buell already beats the 1198. Why add another R? |

I hope 2010 brings a 1125RR with a 1200cc displacement with 175HP, 150 RWHP or better. It will be time for an upgrade for me (if I have any money left)! |

Why not a "Target" R, based upon the R/CR platform? Any ideas? After all...its quickly becoming MOD season up here! brrr... Haven't heard any new news of an RR version yet. It'd be COOL tho... |

The 2008 1098 RACE version Ducati (World Superbike Homologation) is actually a 1198cc bike. The 2009 has just renamed the race homologation to 1198. Buell should come out with a 1200cc bike with a bunch of titanium and carbon fiber parts |

Replace steel with titanium, aluminum with magnesium and plastic with carbon fiber. Also have engines meticulously balanced, assembled and tuned for stunning power delivery. |

$25,000 for a RR version? Heck yeah if it's done right. The right suspension components and cover up the pods, bulk up the tail to match the large front and it's a dream bike. |

The 1198r motor is replacing the motor in the 1098 for 2009 Eh, sort of. The 'base' 1198 will make 170hp, while the 1198R will make 180hp. Ducati is also doing a Naked version of 1098 for 2009 Are you thinking of the new 1100 Monsters? If so, then they are not a naked 1098. I think it would be nice to have the bragging rights of a total Ducati beater in the Buell line up, but I doubt I'd buy one. |

This is Naked version of this years 1098r That picture is a cartoon, and that's a very thin article. I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing that bike for 2009. |

Oh, the 1125RR needs to be priced reasonably, which knowing Buell it would be. I would say $15,999 sounds like a winner. What could Buell do with another $4,000? Hmmmm. Gets me excited. |

Turbo, with some BIGGER PODS for Radiators AND Intercoolers. And maybe just a bit longer swingarm... Just in case. R |

Fresno - your $4000 figure is retail, correct? I look to Aprilia to support your speculation with real-world evidence - Factory [CF + Ohlins + etc] models typicallv run $4k or so more than base models you might be on to something, especially since the Aprilia & Buell "factories" are so similar - sub-assembly gathering points which produce complete machines small lot runs pose less problems Court, or Anony, might you weigh in here? |

I think the new Aprilla V4 looks like a Honda. Sometimes I doubt they have any Italians working in their design center. |

The Ap 4 reminds me of R1 mentality but I bet that engine will be awesome, non the less. $4K would do wonders...easy RR on the left over 08 1125R s'?! hmmmmm |

my 1st road race mount was a '65 5-speed Diana Mk 3, a 250cc model whose crate included a number plate, megaphone [& mebbe more - can't remember....] Sly, your "re-package the '08s with fancy parts" has many precedents within the M/C industry Buell could turn limes into limeade look at Triumph's recently-released "LE" models - tho' mostly gold paint & stickers, yet another twist on Buell's typical, more-models-with-less marketing the Factory could make some real fun for very little extra $$...... |

Firstbuell, If such a version(s), based upon the left over 08's were dealer installed...would you buy one? Seems like many here like the "touring" version, meaning, higher bars (TEACH has one done now!) and the side/tail luggage mods (Ccrider, I think was first and now Teach is working on another version)...among many others. Then there are the street/hot rod group that shifted over from Japanese/Euro sport bikes and/or pre Helicon Buell sportbikes...perhaps even a few true HD's as well. Minor performance mods to the engine, custom paint and body work, deleting all the factory mirrors and signals, Buell or aftermarket goodies, ect...as this crowd is never finished! Finally, a true, dealer prepped, road race ready version...complete with slicks and safety wire, legal engine mods (coolant swap), race spec brake pads and pre-programmed factory race ecu...body work/oil containment, fast fuel valves and on and on... All available with any option that would make it truly unique for that new owner...given EPA regs/unless were talkin' a race version. The best techs/with the best training in this Target concept would be enlisted. The customer would shake his/her hand and really understand that VIN. Dyno numbers and a sign off that all is well prior to delivery. If the tech is really into such a one off build per customer, then he/she would really want to make sure that their work was above normal, day in and day out. The warranty issues would greatly be reduced...least thats my thinking. A real Target build per customer. No lemons allowed as each bike would be dedicated to a higher plane of perfection for which it was destined. There wouldn't be another exactly like it, that is for sure. Nor would it be a give away. Just because its an 08 based should not mean that it would be at a major disadvantage to a stock 09? The improvements of recent prove all is right in Helicon years! Limited production...as there is only so many Sig 08's left! I see that the parts, services and findings by such a diverse marketing approach to yield many advantages that 09 ^ owners might then wish to attain? The question remains, would you buy one? Or, better question, what would YOU like to see thats not listed herein? |

I think that idea would work well with mine in the Buell wants to grow thread. Spin it into a true Factory Custom. Buell 1125R-FC 1125CR-FC The fully Buell trained Tech/Salesmen discuss with you the options available and your needs/wants. Then take one fresh from the crate, perform the upgrades complete with specialized tag and you ride off with a machine built to fit you. Tuned and fitted with full warranty and street legal status. A 'Screaming Eagle' like division at the dealers themselves. Perhaps have a dragon as the Logo instead of the pegasus.
