mocked up a picture of a CR with a Lightning rear end - I think Buell really wimped out by keeping the same rear end as the R - if I did trade in my R for a CR I would try to put a Lightning rear end on to balance the higher bars I would also fit. It would also make an interesting project to see what it would take to make it fit - I know the rear subframe is different but I wonder if the mounting points are in the same place ? | ||

I think part of the reason for the rear end is that the engine/frame config doesn't allow as much space as the XBs do. This resulted in more electronics needing to be located more rearward and taking up more space. I could be mistaken though. | ||

I'm sure a part of the reason is lack of room. If you look at the 1125 tail versus the XBR tail the bottom is lower to give it more room in the 1125. I'm sure it can be done with enough work, but I bet it isn't an easy swap. | ||
