We are currently finishing a CR handlebar conversion for the R. Also, we are working on a full fairing and will have a mock-up for our Nov. 8th Buell event. Additionally, we are looking at using the CR accessory bar conversion, along with the new Uly bags to present the ultimate sport tourer.. More info to come. Jim finance@wrhd.com |

will the CR handlebar conversion fit under the R fairing? Maybe with a different bend handlebar? I would like about an inch higher and two inches back. |

I will be able to better answer this in a few days. It looks like it will fit without interfering with the fairing. (master cylinder for the clutch and brake). The seating position with these bars is really comfortable!!! The install is not easy (not a "bolt-on"), and the dealership is determined to have a good looking install, use all Buell parts and have a "kit" or do installs at an affordable price. |

Teach, Would your lower "mod" option pass tech for 1125R/CR racers if the sidestand cut outs were not made? Curious... Cool stuff by the way...mm |

I’m really interested in adding the CR Black Anodized Handlebars on my 2008 1125R. I do not understand why this would not be a “bolt on.” So I decided to pull out the service and parts manuals and see if this can be done and what issues that I would come up with. Now, I have not done this mod or know if it will work. But, by looking at the manuals I think it will work. The biggest issue is the ignition switch mounting. So I looked at the CR Upper Triple clamp and the ignition switch bolts right to it and the fork lock will work. Now the 1125R and 1125CR use different ignition switches. So you’ll need to buy an 1125CR ignition switch. (same switch as the XB9S, XB12S, and XB12X) You’ll need to order a switch with your key code so your seat key is the same. The Two T45 Torx screws can be re-used. The ignition switch will not be covered like on the CR but it will be hidden in front of the triple clamp and fairing. I got the part number of the Black Anodized Handlebars from Buells web site. It says that you need to also order a clutch line, brake line and throttle, idle cables for use on the CR. Well, the part numbers of the clutch line, brake line and throttle, idle cables are the same part numbers used on the 1125R. Looking at CarbonBigFoots pictures of his bars on his CR show that there is a lot of leftover cable going to the switch gear so I’m guessing the the clutch line, brake line and throttle, idle cables will be long enough. Now for the bad news, retail price of all the parts needed. $362.95 Below is a list of part numbers and retail prices. I might try this mod out in the next few weeks. Two buells, that sounds like a great setup. If you get it done, let me know. I would like to see how it looks and the seat position on the R. |

The Uly Upper Tree would work but your ign switch would be mounted horizontally and might hit the fairing mount |

Looks like the wires have to be extended to the switches on the clutch and brake side. We decided to go with modifying the CR triple clamp and keeping the ignition switch in the stock location for a cleaner look. I can't wait to see pictures on the various ways that the bar swap can be done. That is what is so great about this website, so much information!!! |

made a mistake on my part number list. You do not need J0135.02A8A NUT, STEERING STEM $8.15 That will lower the price a bit. Teach, I would like to see how the stock ign switch is being used with the CR clamp. Will the fork lock still work? If the CR clamp can be easily modified that could save $104.00 |
