they may be good on the track at full lean but at part lean they seem to have a habit of stepping out. When I fitted them to my XB they did the same thing which the original Daiblo T did not. Switched to Metzeler M3 and now no problems. |

Dirty John, I fitted some M-3s for track use. Felt like riding on marbles. Always felt like they were on the edge of losing it. The rear did not gum up hardly at all and never really felt all that warm. Tire pressure was below factory street recommendations... Maybe I am doing something wrong with them, but I felt much more comfy on Conti Road Attacks with TP at 36 front and rear (too much PSI). Regardless, I picked up some Corsa IIIs. |

Paint_shaker - I hear what you are saying but I have complete confidence in the M3 and much less in the Corsa IIIs. The standard Diablo T on the Fire bolt were ace, I think that the centre compound on the Corsa III could be harder than the Diablo T and this could possibly give rise to the part lean stepping out that occured, which went away as soon as I refitted the Diablo T. The front Corsa III is a single compound tyre not a multi compound as most people think. In the UK our weather is generally a lot cooler than in most of the continental USA I would think and this must have an influence on tyre performance. The Corsa III will be removed from my 1125R as soon as it is delivered and M3 will be fitted. |

"The front Corsa III is a single compound tyre not a multi compound as most people think. " Not trying to start an argument, but where did you get your info from? The way the sides of my front tires wear out before the center leads me to believe that the sides are a softer compound. Just sayin'. |

information from a Pirelli dealer, no reason to doubt him |

Eweaver, I have always worn out the sides of my front tires before the center, regardless of bike or tire brand. From my basic understanding of motorcycle physics, the sides wear out faster because they are stressed more in a turn than the center is while cruising. |

"The front Corsa III is a single compound tyre not a multi compound as most people think. " Yes a single compound. The Bridgestone BT-016 fronts are a multi-compound tire if you want to go that direction. I really like mine so far--better than the Corsa IIIs for sure. |

He's correct. The front Corsa III is a single compound. |

Maybe I am doing something wrong with them, but I felt much more comfy on Conti Road Attacks +1. Great tire! They will be going back on the Evil Twin as soon as I destroy the cIII's Rob |

Got Bridgestone DOT 003R's this weekend at the track and my times dropped by ~4 seconds. They're cheap too, $336. Saved the C 3's just in case the bike ever gets outback on the street. |

I have seen Bridgestone 002s for well under $200... Heard a lot good things about them. Maybe I'll give 'em a whirl sometime. |

I've been waiting for all the posts possible to understand...but after this thread's content...and proof, I'll be throwing coin back to the original Corsa III's. There is simply not enuff factual proof to show them at any lessor than a slick...it's all arguable. A good plus, against a slick, is that I can still ride in Bad Weather////as a biker should! I'll get another set of wheels for slicks and track days...BMC picked the right tires as far as I can see for a stocker. |

paint, was that for the pair? I also heard that there is a difference between 003 and 002. I got a lot to learn here. |

From my experience, the Diablo Corsa 3 is a helluva tire....To give some perspective, at Thunderhill raceway, I can lap within 5.5 seconds of the track record on my 08 CBR1000 with a Diablo Corsa 3 rear and a Pirelli SC3 slick front tire. I also ran another 08 CBR1000 with both front and rear Corsa 3's and was only .5 sec slower than my bike. (The track record is a 1:49.5) I use these tires because a rear will last me 5 trackdays as compared to 1-2 with a normal race rear. They warm up super fast, don't tear, slide very predictability and wear like iron. Ken |

For what it's worth... When Dan Bilansky DOMINATED supertwins at Road America this year, he was running a bone stock bike. Corsa IIIs and all. He was really impressed with 'em |

I've had great luck with them. Granted, I run warmers, so I don't get the cold tearing and warm up is not an issue, but they wear very well and stick like glue. |
