I'll get a decent charge on the battery by riding tommorrow--then keep the Tender Jr on it until green pops up. I used this method last Spring and it was okay for months after that....

thanks for the helpful posts.

WOULD you consider a battery drained to dead twice damaged goods?

That can be tested by the Dealer to determine, good/ bad.

There has to be something to this battery issue. I have just had all the latest recalls on my June built 1125R, prior to this I kept it on a battery tender plus every day after riding out of dead battery fear. I just rode home Thurs evening 25 miles RPM always above 4K as I do every time I take it to work, I decided to leave it off the charger to see how it would fair 60 hrs later, it is flat, I hit the switch it clicks and dims the lights with each click, it is back on the tender (so much for a ride today)...
Something has got to be killing the battery, I did notice when I took it to the dealer for all the recalls, the tech stated that the bike wouldn’t take the new reflash, and that he was going to charge the battery up to see if it would take, and it did. What is confusing is that prior to the trip to the dealer it was on the BT+ and the ride to the dealer was 180+ miles one-way all interstate, so how could it have needed a charge? I am confused …
Any techs have an idea as to what I should look for in the diagnostic menu under voltage that could point me in the right direction???
V/R,
Nick

I've got something that I was just wondering about in reading all the battery probs.

Has anyone gone with another name brand of battery for the 25r? Maybe this battery that the factory installs is faulty.

Could also be possible that the batts put in the 08 1125's are an old lot that sat on the shelf for a while. The batteries seem to have traits of old batteries. I had the same battery in my Firebolt for 4 years. It started acting just like some of these 25r batteries at about the 4 year mark. I started having to keep it on a charger between rides.

I don't know what the answer is yet since I haven't tried troubleshooting the batt and elec system yet. I do know that when I took my bike home I didn't put it on a charger and the next day the batt was dead. I started charging it after that.

For everyone that is having this issue, look at the back of your clusters and see what software version you are running and post it. That could shed some light on this issue if it is version dependent or if it's all clusters in general.
