Joel - as you play with your new toy, could you get an OEM ECM dyno and a good run with the Race ECM? Just wondering what's in the Non-EPA playground. Z |

Hi Neb25, Still struggling to get an idea of prices for race parts, don't suppose you have any idea what the race brake pads cost? H0300.06AH |

Sheep, some of the parts are listed in this catalog with prices. You have to look deep past the apparel. http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/catalog/ |

Little steep! I'll wait until someone produces a more reasonably priced one. |

Anyone know what sort of tuning software this set-up uses? And is this for the new XB's also? |

Those pad's are worth the price if you're doing trackdays wasted a set of the stock ones at Mid Ohio in one day. Still 75% left on the race pads after two more track outings at Mid-Ohio. Henry said they would last longer and were easier on the rotors - he wasn't kidding. The stopping power is awsome - way better than the stock pads. |

EBC sells HH pads for the ZTL2 as well. I venture to say that they are probably very similar to the Buell race pads. SOmewhat hard to find. PM me if you want a source. |

The Buell Nissan Race pads are $185 from Buell Racing and worth every penny. The Race Tuner can do just about anything you can thing of. Including change revlimit, change o2 sensors, control a quickshifter, shut off active intake, custom maps and many, many more things that racers like to mess with. I have tried the EBC HH pads because Henry gives them out for free and I can tell you they are not that good. The Race Tuner is the same price as Direct link and much more useful. |

"The Race Tuner is the same price as Direct link and much more useful." Huh? Please explain. To the best of my knowledge: DirectLink: $200 Buell Race Tuner Kit: $775 Unless I'm missing something? Can you buy the Buell race tuner software only and reprogram a stock ECM with it? I didn't think so. |

does the race ecm come burnt with a base map that would be suitable for use with the Jardine can? Just want to richen up the mixture overall to prevent possible lean running? |

Hmmm... Just looked up the DirectLink thing, and that looks like a better price/feature match for the street. (Hypothetically speaking, of course. Clearly it states that you could become non-emissions compliant if used in a street application.....) I don't really have a need for a quick shifter on my commute. Has anybody used this with the DDFI-3? Rob |

Yes the tuner is only $200. The PCM Tool/Lic, key for additional bikes is another $200. |

Neb25, So you are saying you can buy the Factory Buell race tuner software (from Buell Racing Dept.) for $200, and it can be used on the stock ECM? Part numbers? |

A Rep from Technoresearch called me about 3 weeks ago and their prices seem way lower than that of the Buell race ecm and software. I can't remember the exact numbers and she also told me that the price may change a little when it gets released to the general public. The best part is I don't think you will need the race license to purchase their products. I'm on their call back list so when the direct link system for the 1125R is complete they suppose to call me and let me know, and I will pass the info to you guys along with the price. |

This looks like what we've all been waiting for to super tune our super bikes. I just hope the "if it seems too good to be true............" scenario doesn't play out. Price is great and from what I read on their website it looks like it could be done at home but better if a dyno is at hand. I'll wait patiently for more input. Last flash made this bike a keeper for sure, but could it be better? Probably. |

The race programmable ECM is $200 and comes with the software. It replaces the stock ECM. I was referring to the ECM as the "tuner". Sorry. Still a good price. When I ordered it from Henry I thought I was going to get a bill for $750. |

Have I missed something??? The purchase of a race ecm requires a current race license yes? I have seen several people talking about the race ecm as if they have one in their possession... Has anyone acquired one WITHOUT a race license or is this a brick wall for the average joe? (like me....) |

My '02 X-1 White Lightning came new off the showroom floor with the race ECM and race exhaust already installed (I still have the original blue headers and muffler they gave to me when I found out the stock stuff would be sh!t canned). Amazing how times change. |

Neb25, Maybe they made a mistake on the billing .... or Henry really likes you! Good for you! I don't know if that price is repeatable. |
