I ran across a clever spreadsheet somewhere on the web that calculates speeds-in-gears for motorcycles, based on raw gearing input; and adapted it to various motorcycles I've been interested in over the years. Now I've attached a version which has the 1125r and/or 1125cr inputs. For me this spreadsheet does several things: it shows me speedo error, it shows me the effect of any front or rear sprocket changes; and it shows top speeds the motorcycle is capable of, at both redline and max power. As for the 1125, assuming I've assembled the correct data from various sources about the gearing inputs, it shows the effect of the change from the 70 tooth rear sprocket on the R to the 76 tooth sprocket of the CR. And the result is as if BMC decided to make the speeds in 5th on the R, become the speeds in 6th on the CR (its exact); and therefore the lower gears dropping proportionally. The spreadsheet is locked to force you to change only the rear sprocket size and the cruising rpm (both in blue text). If you really want to unlock the spreadsheet, the password is pretty obvious. |
