So I got my first test ride on an 1125R. All I can say is I LOVE IT!!!!. The roads where wet so I couldn't get into it to much, but the shifting alone is so much better than my XB. Now all I have to do is convince the wife so I can get another bike. Also I am willing to wait for the '09's hopefully some of the bugs are worked out. Also don't know if I would rather have the 1125CR? |

I'm a former XB owner and was in the crowd waiting for the '09 but went to a dealer just to see how possible it would be to get an '08. I really got tired of waiting. Part of the reason I was waiting is that I had just bought a Speed Triple in Aug '07 so I still owed a lot on it. The test ride did it. Dealer took me on a 30 minute demo ride through the country. I was hooked. Yes I was upside down on my trade and probably paid a little extra but it was worth it. Picked it up on the 22nd. On the 23rd did 180 miles of twisties and straights and had a blast. Mine had the ECM flashes and the 5th gear recall already. Waiting to find info on how to do the solenoid disconnect. Supposed to smooth it out under 4K RPM. Besides that it rides great. |

Yup, the test ride did me in too when I did one about a month ago. Then when I saw they took 2 grand off msrp, had to go see what we could do. The dealer I've been working with let me take the demo ride with out adult supervision , and lemme tell ya, it was fun. |

the only thing I didn't like was when I was going through parking lots at low speeds the bike felt real jerky compared to my xb9 and the header seamed to get alot hotter than my xb also. but I could deal with both of those. I can wait for an 09 cause I just got my XB and really don't have the money to get another bike. |

The heat and jerkiness are supposed to be fixed with an ECM reflash very soon. When mapping/fueling is on target, this is a very smooth, cool(relatively) machine. in 80˚ ambient I see a run temp of 175-185˚F Highest I've seen is low 200s in traffic on a 100˚ day. I rode a co-worker's 1125 and it ran rough and 10-15˚ hotter than mine for the same course. Z |

California Harley had the Buell factory demo truck in a couple of weeks ago and I signed up to ride. It was a group ride under very close supervision and I never got out of 2nd gear. We did go over some nice roads and the bike was really great: supple suspension, smooth power (what I got to actually try) and felt immediately comfortable. The major problem was it got waaaay too hot, my right leg was burning up. Granted we were riding at city street speed and I was the second or third rider of the day with no cool down between rides, but if it was designed from the rider down, that ride must have asbestos pants. The other thing is that it is impossible to read the LCD and see the indicators for turn, neutral, etc. in the sun. What was really interesting was when I got back on my S3, it felt huge, like I was getting on a Road King. Cal Harley had their 1125 inventory marked down to 10990. |

the LCD screen can be brightened. The signal and neutral light are hard to see, Thats why I spent part of my $675 on a kick ash windshield. I think that will kill the glare and make those lights easier to see. |
