Personally, I like "Satin Black." Not glossy, but not flat either. |

> $2000 dollars, and the fact that it really looks good in sun light Badlion, I hear ya, bro'. I'd wished the 2008 would have come in black, and I'm guessing a lot of people gave them that feedback, hence the 2009 scheme. But, that would have meant going for a year without my 1125r. Not worth it! Even though the black frame and wheels corner and accelerate faster than the blue, I am willing to settle and work on my skills to make up the difference |

That's one of the reasons I polished my frame and swingarm. There's a lot of wind-drag with the OEM textured finish. Like a bicycle rider shaving his legs... Oh, BTW, Amber wheels are faster than black. Z |

> Oh, BTW, Amber wheels are faster than black. I have a set of amber wheels as well. I find the braking to be more effective with the amber wheels, though it does tend to stand you upright more than other colors. Acceleration is still stronger on the stock blue. Still, I know there are major performance gains to be had with an all black bike. Look at the new CR: when the factory takes them on a test ride after assembly, it's so fast the pods end up gloss finish! It's simply the fastest color. |

The REAL reason cyclists shave their legs has nothing to do with wind drag, by the way. It's just easier to shave an unabraded leg than an abraded one when it comes time to wrap it in bandages. Bicyclists don't wear full leathers, so it's their SKIN that "protects" them in a fall... |
