Well I am a new Bueller. I recently purchased a XB12XT and have been having a blast on that bike touring and commuting.

I am selling my H-D street glide next month and am considering an 08' 1125R to replace the H-D.

I can get a pretty good deal on an 08' and I believe the new map will fix the remaining 08' issues.

Anyway this would be my first sport bike, but, I really want to use the bike for around town and track days (I have no experience by the way) it just looks so damn fun.

I know this is a high HP bike, but, everything I have read leads be to believe it is dream to handle and makes riders better.

Can you add any input if this would be the right bike for me?

I know I could also look at the XB12R but, I think I will want to upgrade in a year anyway so why not get what I really want now.

Does my logic seem flawed?

An XB12R is like a XB12XT that's been prepped for track use. The 1125R is a full-power liter bike that's designed to be comfortable enough for everyday use. So, it boils down to what you want- something similar to what you have now, or something different. You can't go wrong either way.

I agree that you can't go wrong either way. The only thing that I would say to steer you in any direction is that the XB12R is going to be exactly the same in terms of engine, transmission, and suspension, and therefor too similar to what you currently have to make it very interesting in the long run.

The 08 1125R has the stuff that will keep you excited, and is different enough to keep you interested in both bikes. The map is the last of the tweeks needed and will now be identical to the 09's (aside from colors). There is also the promotion going on before the end of the month where you will get $675 in free Buell parts of clothing, and since you are already an enthusiast, that will be easy to spend.

Once the track day bug gets you, you are in for good. Have fun.

Hi Ryan,

WELCOME ABOARD! I'm a relatively new "Bueller" myself, with my first being the 1125R. I can't speak from experience with other Buells, but, I can say with absolute confidence that you'll most certainly enjoy the 11 for exactly the reason(s) you're thinking!!!

I've been riding for nearly 30 years, (on & off) and have owned many different bikes from cruisers to hypers. The 11 is both extremely nimble and confidence inspiring in the corners, and lifts the front wheel effortlessly with it's great, useable and "streetable" powerband. It became clear to me shortly after buying it that it was, without a doubt, built from the ground up with the rider in mind.

Even for a track inspired machine, it's great for day to day practical riding. In fairness, I have had a few concerns with it as a first year production bike, however, I believe most will be easily resolved. This forum is definitely a great source of info. to keep you going in the right direction.....

Off the top, I cant think of a better recommendation for an all around fun sportbike! If you haven't had a chance to ride one yet, I highly recommend that you take one for a spin, but, PLEASE, be careful! They've been found to induce a characteristic known as: wallet-falling-out-on-the desk-to-purchase syndrome!!!

Best of luck to you brother Bueller.

Tracy

Don't forget the different fuel injectors and relocated O2 sensors.
