Hey guys,
Those that have got the kn filter. How did you make it fit? I did trim the sides but its seems it is not wide enough. Cant get the ends to stay put plus there seems to be a gap.

IDEAS please?

Big e, I trimmed the ends off of the stock filter and stuffed them into the recess so that the gap is gone. Also make sure you put those rubber bands on carefully so that everything stays in place. It'll take some patience and maybe several tries to get right. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I'll give a try. Was thinking of notching the filter across the top to make it bend more easily.

Tim thats the part #! See you sunday! Got the Sauron exhaust all set up. It is evil, I like it. Havent removed the springs from the front rotor yet. Have you? How do you like it?

Hi Gang,

I called K&N a while ago, just to find out where they're at (if at all) with a set of filters for our bike. They said they've already had requests, and just need a customer to bring their bike in to use for R&D.

Anyone out there live anywhere near Riverside, CA. and willing to offer up their bike for a couple of days so we can all get some good filters???

Thanx, Tracy

Sounds like a cop-out to me.

K&N is 6 miles from Skip Fordyce (nearest Buell dealer). If they wanted to look at an 1125R or buy an air/oilfilter set they don't have far to go.

Well I got it to fit. I took a knife and cut inbetween each fold of the mesh. This way it bends very easy around the intake. Also makes it long enough to slot in both sides of the intake.

Got 1 on mine. Did take a little work but got it on with relative ease. Now to see if there is any change in performance.

Anyone notice any change?

Well took her out for a very spirited ride Friday after work. I did notice some changes, all good. Seems to have alot quicker throttle response and more power. At high speeds I noticed alot more pull. Now I am running the Saruon pipe, engine ice and royal purple oil. The bike runs alot cooler with this combo too. In fact it runs awsome all the way up the rev range. No remaps for me either as I like the way it runs now.

OK heres the pics.

I cut the outer most ridge of the filter off both longer sides.
it pretty much fits perfectly side to side that way. The ends are a different story.
I slid the filter to the clutch side slot as with the OEM. the throttle side had a gap of about 3/8 inch. I filled it with some of the OEM filter. It overlaps enough I think that it wont allow debris to enter. all and all pretty easy. maybe not the perfect way but works for now.

there is some throttle response improvement for sure. I haven't been out today yet to get some high speed riding in. But I have a track class on Monday so I should be able to see there!! : )
I have since cleaned up the OEM pie I fitted in and it looks better still fits the same.
