I recent bought my first Arai. A plain black Quantum 2 for $400. Best helmet I've had. Only one that's ever fit right. I tried so many helmets on a few months ago I irritated my ears. I wanted to keep it around $200 but none of the brands in that range fit. I'd recommend Fit first, everything else second. |

I recently bought the Scorpion EXO-1000, and I will say that I have been really impressed with the helmet. Made well, vents well, looks good, and has some cool features that actually work. Its not the cheapest helmet out there, but its not the most expensive either. |

+1 on the EXO-1000 Scorpion. I'm loving mine and I'm a long standing Arai owner. |

I like modular helmets. I have been using HJC for awhile and they are a pretty good value for the dollar. Here is a good place to get the Symax II and other helmets. http://www.helmetcity.com/page/HC/CTGY/symax2 Mike |

I bought the HJC AC-12Carbon Fiber "elbowz" helmet last summer. I had a scorpion exo-400 before that. It is a very nice helmet that was very comfortable. But it was a little on the heavy side for me. So I found the HJC new on ebay for around $280. I like the helmet alot. It is very light and seems to go through the wind pretty good. Although I do feel a cross wind every now and then. I am looking at buying a new Joe Rocket carbon or a regular HJC carbon helemt for next year(I really like the looks of the carbon fiber). If you cruise ebay enough sometimes you can find deals on almost new helemts cheap. And with the HJC the liner is removeable for cleaning. |

I just got in the mail what surely must be one of the coolest helmets ever . . . . I'll try to get some photos. A Buell 25th Anniversary Commemorative Ice White Pearl Arai RX7RR. |

Not withstanding customs. I recently switched from an ARAI Qauntum F to a Scorpion ex0-700. Mostly because it was on sale at Vintage days for 149.00. Fit is very good, noise is worse at speeds over 70, same at speeds under (all my rides are nakeds) Visibility is a tad better. All in all its just about the same helmet for 1/3 the price. doesn't leak in the rain (200 mile test in PA) and the anti-fog stuff works! I haven't changed shields yet, just received the smoke shield so I'll be testing that shortly. Worth checking out |

I use a Nolan N-102C; my old, backup is also a Nolan modular, N100E. Fit on the N100 is better than the 102, but the 102 is much more comfortable and has a sun-shade. Not very quiet, but I don't listen to anything but the motor/road when I ride... Z |

I bought a HJC Modular a few years back when they 1st hit the market and I hated that helmet. A couple years back I decided to try the modular helmet stuff again and found a great deal on a Caberg Justissimo. It's comfortable and well made. |
