Hi, I'm trying to decide to whether to get one or not. What kind of real world numbers are people getting out of them? Top speed? 3rd gear wheelies possible? j |

I can't give you numbers, I'm 6'4" 270 lbs., but the seat of the pants tells me this is the best bike I've ever ridden!! I can pull 2nd gear wheelies haven't tried 3rd. |

If you get an 1125, don't give up your X1. They are two entirely different machines. You can get to 150. Third gear wheelies will probably require some effort especially at your elevation. Beware, many of these run on the hot side. For me, ambients over 90F and I am riding the X1. |

"If you get an 1125, don't give up your X1. They are two entirely different machines. " I wouldn't get rid of the X1, I use it for commuting, its paid for and I've finally got all of the bugs worked out. 1125r would be a weekend warrior bike, and possible club racer. j |

Jason: "1125r would be a weekend warrior bike, and possible club racer." You say that now. Once you feel the power and everything else the 25r brings to the plate, the X1 may gather more dust than you think. I put 34,000 miles on my 00' X3 and loved it. My 25r is a whole other ballgame! Go with a 25r, you will not regret it. There are a number of 25r riders around you. Maybe you can convince one to let you trade for a few miles (Zac where are you??) Neil S. |

+1 CC...I thought i would split time between the XB and 1125r...for practical reasons--better ergos, less heat, better gas mileage. Since I purchased the 25r 7 and a half months ago, I have spent about 2 week on the XB--and that was only because I was waiting for some new rubber for the 25r rear. Yes, your old bike will sprout cobwebs. |

I swore I would ride my M2 enough to justify keeping her, but it didnt happen. I sold her a couple weeks ago, it was so sad, but at least she will get the attention she deserves. |

Put it this way, my bike is at the dealer today and tomorrow, only been out of my stable 3 hours and I'm already having anxiety issues.... They do run a tad hot, and have a couple small bugs, but I, like many owners on badweb, love this bike!! |

J No need to find one to borrow. I am in Denver as well and on a whim just to see an 1125R in person I stopped by High Country Buell off I25 and Hwy 52. Well they have one and offered to let me take it for a spin, no questions just said here ya go have fun! Now I am screwed! I have to now find a way I can keep my S1 and get me one of these sick machines ASAP. Oh, and yes it will wheelie in 2nd here at altitude just running up thru the gears, 3rd the front end was definitely light and this was as I was just getting familiar with the bike. Great work Erik Buell! ML |

To be honest, I've been trying to sell my X1 since spring, and nobody has been able to come up with the cash. With the credit crunch, used bike purchasers---with less than prefect credit, are having a tough time financing it. And as we are all aware, the older tubers just don't bring the $$$ we think they should. I can't justify selling the ole X1 for pennies, when I've dumped so much into it. Heck the flaming genuine Buell race kit alone cost nearly $2000.00. And thats about what people are wanting to offer. I am thinking about taking to Rocky Mountain Harley and see if they can move it. Make its sale a contingent for me purchasing a 1125r. Maybe they'll have better luck moving it. Its a damn nice bike. j |

The resale market for all Buells stinks...Hard to sell what are still considered niche bikes. Maybe the 1125r will help make Buell more mainstream and resaleable. I had a similar experience selling my Mazda RX-8. It took 1.5 years (although it was "casually" for sale for a good bit of that time) and I sold it for under what I considered fair market value. What a sweet car. Sorta like Buells--not the fastest in a straight line, but it out-handled pretty much anything out there. and forget it in the twisties.... |

I am a sales manage for Zylstra HD and Buell in St. Charels Il. I got a chance to ride the pre-production 1125R at Road America and I can tell you coming out of turn 13 and hitting the strait we were clipping up to mid 160's. 1'st gear does over 70 at red line 2nd puts u close to 100. / We took 3 1125r's out to a bike night in Chicago area and they blew everyones mind!!! 2nd gear wheelies are easy, crack the the throttle at 75mph (about 7700rpm) and hang on. You can pull off in 3rd but everything has to be perfect, you really have to clutch it and pull hard. This bike is bad ass and your local dealership should let you test ride I know we do test rides. Mainstream? My statement was qualified with a "maybe" in regards to the 1125r helping Buell become more mainstream....and if that picture is supposed to mean anything..just cause an online magazine has the 25r in an "oddball shootout," it means nothing. Besides is the Ducati an oddball since it was included in the shootout? Brad, even though you claim to be a Buell fan, your posts speak otherwise. "that green is awsome"...yeah, yeah, yeah. Give it a rest. |
