have anybody noticed carbon deposits on your intake valves? I removed the air filter box to disconnect the solenoid cable and noticed to much build up on valves on both cylinders. I think is to early for this engine to have carbon build up (4100 miles). I guess is running rich or something. |

The tech noted deposits on my valves (front and rear) and in the front cylinder intake at the 620 mile services. I just did the 6200 mile service and the deposits have not gotten any worse. Based on this I assume the are a product of the initial break-in. |

Mine too...at a mere 1200 miles and now close to 6k...though no more noted after countless test and tunes. BIG intake runner/low velocity of said mixture at street riding rpms/reversion on intake track = liquid or wet condition at intake valve backside and finally, slight vaporization of fuel showing up on intake valve and intake port. Poor fuel and/or short run cycles "helps" these deposits grow. Sequential timing/firing event of injector? Its a compromise for the balance in tuning. For this engine to cover the rpm spectrum that it does and to do it so well...there has to be some sort of a compromise...and this is one result of such. That's my 2 cents but yea, it bugs me too. Pull the heads and break down for proper cleaning of such as no other method deems proven or safe...if it bothers you that much. mm |

Are there head breathers? If so are they routed into the intake? |
