A friend of mine is having a time with his 1098. In 800 miles, he has had two dead batterys and the bike at the dealer for probable charging problems, dohhhhhhh. Left him stranded twice. So don't feel too bad, it just isn't our brand |

YEP, with the fuel metering systems needed to meet epa regulations and all the electronic doodads thrown into the mix,(clocks, data collectors and other needless bullsh-t on a streetbike)no wonder the mechanics are referred to now as "techs". A good old simple S1 is sounding aweful nice.LOL |

Lost_in_ohio, sounds like your friend needs a Battery Bug. I got one for my bike and that is how I was able to find my draw. Check out Amazon.com. Has his dealer been good to him with repairs? Sometimes its hard to find a dealer that knows what there doing. Here in Kalamazoo Michigan there is a Ducati dealer and they are great. Its a little place called Life Cycle and they will bend over backwards to help you and make sure you are happy. I test rode a 1098S there and they have always been good to me. |

My buddy Rodi has had his 1098 in the shop a dozen times in the last year for stalling, stumbling, rough idle. The shop manager told him not to slow down, doh'. He got everything fixed up under a campain to remap it but still it sucked. |

There is a great topic on sport-touring.net with a ducati owner having problems getting her bike repaired. |

I was in a Yamaha dealer the other day and the salesmen said there was a recall on his Star 750 for almost an identical problem to the 1125R's tranny but it can happen under any conditions. It wasn't even a first year model, they've just collected enough accidents to make the recall cheaper than the lawsuits. |

The bike isn't even two month old yet and it has been at the dealer more than in his garage. I feel bad for him but he has a couple other bikes to ride so it isn't a big deal to him. |

I got news for ya guys even the mighty cbr 1000 is having problems and its a honda! Tranny problems and oil consumption! I am a huge Ducati fan and have owned one also. Yes the 1098 had problems also, I wont list them but they have done a great job fixing them too. Just like Buell is doing! Ride on |
