Man, I am jealous of you guys with metal working skills. My father-in-law was a professional welder and could make about anything. I can't make anything. My wife tries to make me feel better by saying I have other talents. She never has specified what those other talents are though. I agree that those bags seem made for the 11. The color seems to match really well as well. One question though. Since you were fabbing the brackets up, couldn't you have made the bracket that mounts to the bags as well instead of buying it from Givi just to cut apart? Anyway, like everyone has already said, looks great. |

I could have done that but, I did not want to "re-invent the wheel" so to speak. The interface points that the bags mount on, rest on and, lock on are pretty tightly controlled as far as tolerances.
The mounting points are not on the same plane so, that also complicates the mfg. Hopefully this gives some insight to why and how I ended up with this design. So now it is time2Ride! Off into the sunset I go...................

I added the finishing touch to the 1125r(t). Admore lighting has a kit for the V35 bags. A little pricey but, very well made and VERY bright. They show up during the day and almost blow you away at night.
The lights act as running lights, turn signals and brake lights. I have the brake lights wired through a Kisan Tailblazar so all the LED brake lights flash quickly and then fade to full on in 5 sec. They call it an exponential decay. They almost make LEDs act as strobes. This week I'll be gearing up go to OH for a short 2 day 700 mile trip. Now cagers will have very little excuse for not seeing me ;+} Later Neil S. |

Are those from Givi? They look like they match the bags. |

Neil - I've noticed something. Ever since I installed the 6800˚K HIDs, I haven't had a single case of a left-turn in front of me, cut-off or pull-out-in front. I hardly ever flash my high-beams anymore. Might just put HIDs on high too... Z |

Nope they are from Admorelighting.com . Nice little kit with Q/D connectors and all, including a 7/16" drill bit for those that don't have one. |

Eh, save your bucks and just put 55w H11 in the hi beams. By the time your HID gets up to full on (most of the time anyway) you will be turning them off. I still have a set of PIAA 1100X on the shelf that should be mounted someday. Actually the wiring is done all I need to do is drill 2 holes. But I want to ride and not wrench!!! |

My 800 mile trip to OH and back made me realize I've been spoiled by the Rick Mayer seat on the ST (Aaaaah, Sooo Nice!) My 55yo butt can't take it. Time to send the seat off to Rick Mayer. http://www.rickmayercycle.com/ WELL worth EVERY penny!! Neil S. |

Hey Neil, I'm not sure why, but, this is the first time I've stumbled across your "R/T" conversion. That's SWEEEEEEET! Great job on the fabrication! May I inquire as to what it's cost you (roughly) to get these bags, the "strobes", kibbles, bits, etc., and mount everything up? I'd be game to try a similar project over this winter. My little mig welder is rarin' to go! I appreciate your time. Tracy |

Thanks for the kudos. The short list: Givi V35 bags, inner bags and racks=$700 AdMore LEDs for Givi= $139 Convertibars= $325 Brake and Clutch lines= $95 Throttlemeister= $140 HID low beams= $225 Zumo 550= $625 AmpliRider= $60 Kisan TailBlazar= $90 Kisan License plate= $100 Dual circuit rear LED turn signals= $60 Uly pegs= $40 Total= $2599 Don't try and count my labor. The bag mounts required ~$50 materials and 5-6 hours fabrication time. That should give you a reasonable estimate. Later Neil S. |

Hi again Neil, Thanx for the THOROUGH info! Yeah, I understand on the whole labor thing. I wouldn't want to pay a guy to do the conversion for me, that's for sure! I'm certainly not an engineer, but, I tend to git er done with reasonable results. (at least it shouldn't fall off when I'm done) Stay safe on your R/T! Thanx, Tracy |

*crickets* okay time for me to break the silence!! Neil I saw you said something about the brackets possible being manufactured... I'm guessing that did not happen as I have looked through almost all of your million posts and haven't found anything. I want to have the hard bags and my to-be wife able to ride at the same time. Would you be able to give me more detailed info on how you made the brackets. I guess I'm looking for more pictures of the cross braces and the mounting points of the brackets. I don't have a welder, I am going to try to get a local welder/fabricator to make the brackets for me. THANKS for any help you can give me. Nick |
