Just broke a belt on my 1125r. 6300 KM's. Was giving it some throttle over a set of train tracks, tire spun and then grabbed traction suddenly, spit the belt out like nothing! Not very happy considering i had a big trip planned this weekend! Anyone else break a belt yet? and Anyone know of a chain conversion for my bike? I know the racing guys are running chains! O, and anyone know if their local dealer has a belt? going to be at least two weeks for me to get one here and thats rush. I think its a load of crap because its not hard to throw on on a truck and overnight it here... Let me know ill even pay shipping! Bottom line, Why does this bike have a belt when almost all other comparable street bikes have chains? Its not a freakin harley anymore..... Im pretty angry... the "unbreakable waranteed for life" belt broke way too easy! |

PM Court, He can help. Your dealer needs to check the "Down Vehicle" box and they will ship one ASAP. The Chain Gang....

If your dealer has another 25R explain your situation and see if they will pull the belt from another bike for you. They can wait 10 days to get the belt for their bike. |

I seem to remember one other guy that frequents this site that had his 1125R belt snap. |

Dave, I have a belt in stock that I'd be happy to ship, but I'm not sure, with Canadian customs, how long it would take to get from Austin, Texas to B.C. It could take just as long as through your local dealer. Do you have any experience getting stuff shipped from the U.S.? Lemme know if I can help. Thanks, Jay James M. Hey jay! I have a shipping address in the united states so it is easy to get parts to me! I just called your number but all i got was an answering machine! If you have another way to let me contact you that would be great! That way we can talk about how we can do this! I talked to my dealer about this allready, they said they are not allowed to buy parts direct from you in the states, but i am. They may be able to reimburse me when the belt gets here, or maybe i can buy the belt from you and when the one they orded gets here i can send it to you and you can reimburse me! Lets get this figured out so i can get back on the road! Thanks for the help! Dave Buckle (Message edited by D_buckle on June 13, 2008) |

Dave, Glad we can be of service. Sorry 'bout the answering machine. It's R.O.T. (Republic Of Texas) Rally time in Austin this weekend. Can you say "Madhouse"?!! I'll PM you my mobile number as soon as I send this. Call that number tomorrow (Saturday) after 11:00am Central time and we'll hammer out the particulars. There's nothing worse than having a broken bike when the riding weather is perfect! Thanks again, Jay James M. Howze Central Texas H-D/Buell Austin, Texas ext 120 jhowze@centraltexasharley.com |

Well, thanks to jay i got to take the bike out today! Belt arrived this morning and was installed an hour after i brought it to the dealer. Looks like a super simple job, would have done it myself but that would void my warranty! Hopefully this belt holds up better than the last one. I was thinking about it while i was doing some wheelies today and i hope thats not what caused the belt to become weak... I guess only time will tell! If i said i wasnt worried about it i would be lying... But the dealer ordered a second spare for me so worst case they will just have to fix it again! |

If you wanna know how good Buell is, you have to look no further than this site. Heck, I was an an Inside Pass day at Barber and a guy sheared some teeth off his Uly belt. The Buell guys in the demo truck GAVE him a new belt. Just handed it to him and said, "here ya go". No charge. |
