the 176 was taken from magazine spec and the 186 was also taken from a magazine remembered article. fastest for me on my 1125 indicated was 145mph. my high speed road isn't long enough and the other one has too many driveways. with my limited busa experience i would believe the busa gets to top speed quicker than the 1125 but i'd rather the curvy bits also. tim |

The Busa will never carry high speeds through the corners... But the 1125R will be destroyed in a straight line by a busa... I don't even know why anyone would want to compare them. The busa is made to appeal to a crowd that loves to go fast in a straight line. It's a monster of a bike! The thing is enormous, and it shows when you try to dip into any corners. As far as top speed, i've pushed mine and it really seems like that big front fairing is holding it back... It's got a lot to push through the air, so I would imagine somewhere in the 160 mph range is all that it's got. But, 160 is faster than any police car will go! |

160 is faster than any police car will go! Like LEO once told me. Son I dont care how fast it is, you can't out run a Motorola V/R, Nick |

Plotted top speed in sixth on my dyno run was 164.5 mph at the limiter. Cycle World measured a top speed of 161 mph. I figured when I bought the bike that it would be an honest 160 mph motorcycle. Suits me... Jack |

I agree, on the original post. On my Ss, had only 2 races, one guy on a harley, other on a GSXR600. Since the 25r, I've had a race at least once a week. Don't necessarily race very time, but do when I'm feeling onery. Just got home from one of the most fun races I've ever had. 50 miles with a well off individual in what looked like a highly modified Porche Carrera 4 turbo. Took us about 20 minutes to cover the miles and I am now more in love with this bike than I have ever been with any vehicle. Didn't top it out, but came close, it felt so smoooooth a those speeds, it was amazing! Guy in the porsche was very impressed that I kept up, and that I could pull on him, gave me several thumbs up, I don't think I have ever had a SEG on my face that big before. Mine topped out at 165 on the dyno. so 160 real world is plausable. and a police crown vic will do 160, FYI. just not as quickly as the 1125R |

It was awesome! I thought about blowing off my plans and following him to for a bit, see if he wanted to grab a beer, but blowing of plans with my wife, probably wouldn't have made the ending to sweet... |

Carmell, a lot of topics on here get de-ailed and side tracked, I thinks it's the nature of the beast... We get back on track sometimes, although lately it seems a little fewer and far between... |

"a police crown vic will do 160" Not to rain on your parade, but speaking from personal experience ... A crown vic, depending on the gearing, will only do about 135mph, and thats pushing it. The Charger police vehicle will do 150mph. Now the Camaros, which are no longer in service, use to get close to 160! But as Nick said ... its hard to out run the radio along with helicopters and airplanes. |

growing up in a little po dunk town, i can tell you a crown vic will not do much over 130's with the light bar on, and it will just top 140 with out. my toyota supra was there guage as to wether or not the new cop cars they got were any faster. anytime they got a new car we had to go outside of town and run it against my supra. they never could catch that thing. but these are also the guys that would come out to the 1/4 mile we had marked off and do radar runs for me with my stroker motored S10 after i'd done tuning or anything. on that note, my 9 has out run a cop car. its not always how fast you can go, its how fast you can get away... |

Having driven a police Crown Vic, while they may get to 130 or so, they don't handle worth a crap well below that. So at 130 I would think it would be hold on and pray. |
